Update
Hello Folks,
It’s been yet another very big push for content and gameplay this patch. There are several new things for you to take a look at and test out. In summary, ther's a new map, a new Mech, a new piece of information warfare equipment and some fixes to existing systems. Also included with this patch is the second phase of the Match Maker system.
NEW River City Snow
River City Snow is now part of the random map rotation. During the winter, temperatures drop to (-2.5°C), making quite a frosty glow around this familiar area - turning this map we know and love into a smoggy winter wonderland of low temperatures, frozen ground and slippery slopes, with an icy chill in the air. Mechs who move too far out in teh open water now get stuck in the half frozen mud.
The Cataphract has been added to the game. We have decided to add a 3rd balistic slot to this mech and have increased the payload as to be able to support our users wish for a Mech with 3 Gauss rifles.
The Comand Console has been activated in the Mech lab and can now be implemented ingame. The Comand console allows you to draw on the tactical map so that your teammates can see your tactical instructions. Please do not use this feature to draw images which may be offensive.
A very big improvement in Mech hit-box detection was also included in this patch. Fast Mechs which move over 120 kph now have a hitbox.
That being said, here are your patch notes:
GENERAL
MATCHMAKING Phase 2
This patch, we introduce the 8-player group sizes back into the game. The match maker works the same as usual with this single exception that groups may not match up with other groups any more.
This is phase 1 of a 3 phase Match Making upgrade and will eventually evolve into a skill-less based matching system.
Match Making – Phase 2
- Players can launch into a match as a solo player.
- Players can launch into a match as a group.
- Player groups can now be up to 8 players again.
- Players in a group cna no longer match up with other groups. This way no groups may abuse the matchmaker system by dropping simultaneously
- The Match Maker no longer checks to make sure there are even Mech weight classes on both teams as to speed up the matchmaking process for everyone.
- Example: A player group of 8 players launches. The match maker then tries to find 8 players from the solo drop pool to fill the second 8 player team.
- Double heat sinks are now 1.3 times as effective as standard heat sinks. This does not include DHS's integrated into the engine which stay at 1.0 value to increase players need to manage their heat
- Trial Mechs must now be repaired before they can be used again.
- Weapon Bay Doors now take 2 times as long to open and can no longer be toggled.
- PPC heat increased from 15 to 28
- ERPPCs were only generating 50% of the amount of heat they should have been. This is now fixed.
- Machine guns now fire 2 times as fast and deal 50% less damage to balance the weapon again.
- Flamers now deal 50% more damage but cause 15% more heat to your own Mech.
- To simulate wear and tear of weapons during a long combat situation, we have decided to implement a system where weapon damage decreases over time. Weapons deal 100% damage during teh first minute of a match and decrease steadily to 75% damage after 10 Minutes of a match.
- We have decreased the rear armor of all Mechs to give players a more realistic experience for rear torso damage.
