For the whining people who think this is a patch issue:

I dont care where the game is, I want communication from PGI. Imho they can bring the next 6 months no patches at all. I wouldnt care, as long as we get an heads up.

PGI is a small company and they dont have the manpower to do awesome betas like the guys at SOE (seriously that was a great beta). I get that. But the right thing to do is to stand to your imperfections, not ignore them.

The thing i hate most about PGI is its willful deceiving of the playerbase. Nov. 13th PGI new that they wouldnt patch, but didnt post that information until the last minute, saying that they never announced a patch to that date (they did though, saying we could expect at least BAP and maybe ECM, when they figure out how to balance the ECM)
The patch didnt came and there was a huge outcry in this forum and others where this game is discussed.

For the patch today there were announcements for:
skins, new gamemode, map variation, 8v8, Cataphract
We only get informations shortly before the patch.

When there is good news, then they twitter about it, write news and actively engage in this forums. We got to know the full patchnotes of the DHS patch 4 days before it went live. That means PGI knows what they are patching days ahead. But when there are bad patches or no patches at all, then they dont say anything, knowing that it will cause a bad reaction.
The strange thing is, that i would have even understood when they said "guys something came up!" But so we are waiting for the announced patch and and are legitimately pissed, when there is a discrepancy in communication.

We all know that they must have known days ahead, that those changes werent gonna make it into the patch. But no communication to the community. Some of us are customers and have a right to be pissed when treated that bad.

It doesnt matter if its alpha, beta, closed or open. The fact that this company doesnt take its customers (potencial or paying) seriously causes huge mistrust an bad word of mouth from players to potencial players.

It isn't bad luck that the patch wasn't ready. It's deceitfulness. They must have known the promised features wouldn't be finished.

Last time I accused PGI of lying, the thread was locked. I'm guessing that's imminent here as well.

Dear PGI,

Thank you for giving me a game that is free to play and lets me stomp around in BattleMechs. In return I have contributed my hard earned money to see that this endeavor continues.

That is all.

P.S.

It would be nice if, in the next patch, you fix that "other players" problem - you know, the one that makes them whine and moan like welfare recipients being forced to actually work for once in their lives.

No im not. As a child i would still have trust in this company.

I lost that after they willingly deceived their own playerbase.

They are not lying. They are simply refusing to communicate anything thats not positive. Take SOE as an example. They struggled some patches as well, but they alwas told the playerbase what was going to happen. There were never bad suprises. Sure they had gamebreakers as well, but they didnt keep quiet and hoped that no one would have noticed. If you see expectance of this as childish, then you have a big problem with your intelligence. Most people are not as lazy of thought as you and it matters to them how they are treated by a company.

Right now, PGI is a bad company. Not because of the state of its game, but because how they are treating their customers.

Yeah I'm a wee bit worried as well...
But hey they didn't put in 3rd person view... I call it a good news  ( and I hope will stay this way )
Still I don't like the lack of information from devs and that they didn't fixed many issues, but we all knew how it would end up any way...

Now for PGI we have enough content for four to six weeks I think, start to fixing Net code, cam shaking for lrms, all the wee bugs, match making etc...
Well at least we have UAC's sorted for now it looks

My clan is about to disband. We lost 20 players between the patches of 13th and today. So for many the content is not enough. And its not fun to play the same 4 maps over and over.

I wouldn't say the Planetside 2 beta was a great beta. It was a good beta, but was definitely rushed for launch at the end.

hmm i see a patern i made a post about this on another closed beta i'm doing. I simply said if you want to be a game dev company look at the big dogs like blizzard see how they develope there games, how they comunicate with the testers and how they put up notes of what they are working on a month in advance (sometimes even farther out then a month). If more companys would do that there player base and loyal fallowing would grow and wouldn't go nuts from patches like what just happend if they know the next patch is going to have ..... and .....

Well, I agree with what you said, except this part. Saying "We're going to deliver X" and then dot delivering, and not saying "oops" is...lying.

They wont ever get that. They think its about the "bad" patch. They dont care about the bad patch because they dont play in a team, so they think you are whining.

I understand what you are saying and yes a heads up from PGI would have been welcome.
