Death Dealer Mercenaries

In conjunction with
THOR's SHIELDHALL
Where a DDM pilot buys a round for the bar
every hour or your entire party drinks free all night!!

Hailz MechWarriors!

Honor. Victory. Glory. Pride. Brotherhood.

Unfortunately, only words to more and more in this day and age. To the Death Dealer Mercenaries those will never be just words. Those are our Principles.

The Death Dealer Mercenaries are now recruiting Warriors of all experience and ability levels. DDM, one of the oldest and most decorated 'Mech units online, is looking for kindred spirits who enjoy playing the game as part of a group of loyal friends.

The Death Dealers offer superior equipment, competitive benefits, and great pay. Payment for your efforts, directly deposited into your ComStar personal account for every contract completed…whether DDM wins or loses. In fact, it is DDM's policy that every pilot gets to play...BUT, if for ANY reason you show for a drop and you don't get to participate...DDM still stuffs your pockets full of crisp, new CBills. Now what Merc doesn't love that??

We’ve all been there, my friends. Egos and attitudes can sometimes make online gaming a chore.
That is never a problem within DDM. Our OCL, with a combined 70+ years of "Mech online" experience, are always willing to share their wealth of knowledge, skills and leadership for every DDM Warrior to draw on and to learn from. More than that however, they ensure the integrity of the unit by making sure every Death Dealer is, first and foremost, fit to wear the DDM colors. The DDM OCL knows that free and easy discussions, structured practices, and having an enjoyable gaming experience will make you the best you can possibly be.

We don't have any high color, pretty recruiting posters. DDM isn't about that. We come to bid and win and bid and win.

Now...do you think the Death Dealer Mercenaries are for you?

Cool to see DDM. I was in DDM for a brief while in BZ with Leo Showers. Pretty sure I played as Kagemusha. Best of luck!

Good to hear from you and good luck

A few old DDM'ers running around here. I've seen Wing0, Lexington(Teeze), and a few others running around here! Good to see an old BZ staple refranchising for MWO!.

I haven't talked to Wing0 in a while. We miss him, he is the best light mech pilot to ever play the game and a good friend. Lex is of course, a Legend.

I wanted to stop by and add a little info to what Gate has already posted.

The Death Dealer Mercenaries have been in active operation, under the same leadership, since August 2000. We were originally formed from the ashes of a few proud units that had suffered a leadership vacuum, dissolved or were simply too small to compete in an attrition based league like BattleZone or StarLance, the two biggest, active Mechwarrior 3 leagues. We made a fairly good showing for a new unit near the sunset of Mechwarrior 3 league play, and continued to grow and expand with a focus on the future, looking toward the release of Mechwarrior 4.

We won first place in BattleZone league play for Mechwarrior 4 each of the first 13 months, including Planetary league play. We have participated in just about every league or ladder out there for Mechwarrior 4 at some point over the years. We have had hundreds of members pass through the unit in the last decade, and have faced thousands of other great warriors on the fields of battle. Through the long cold Winter since the release of the last official Mechwarrior title, we have maintained a core group of warriors. Our group of gamers became a family and we still get together every summer for a week of partying and gaming we affectionately refer to as DDMCON.

While we have branched out in to other games over the years, we remain a Mechwarrior mercenary unit through and through. We have had a clan, crew, org, guild or unit in most of the popular shooters and MMOS to come out in the last several years. If you see a group Death Dealers running around in any game you play, it's probably us. We have been wishing for and dreaming of a game that combined the brilliant universe and white-knuckle action of Mechwarrior with the stat-tracking of the Battlefield ames and the persistence and progression of an MMO for years. While we never gave up hope of another Mechwarrior title looming just over the horizon, I never really expected it to be so close to what we had all been hoping for.

Now, with it's impending release, we are ready to unpack our cooling-vests, dust of our neuro-helmets and mount up. 2012 will be the year of the "mech, and we'd like to invite any of you looking for something more than just a team to level with, but a brotherhood to become part of to head on over to our forums and join up. We've always got room for a few more good warriors to ride with us as we lay down the Heavy Mounted Vengeance of the Death Dealer Mercenaries.

Join us today at www.DeathDealerMercenaries.com
Even if you aren't currently looking for a unit to join, we welcome all to join our forums and become part of one of the oldest active online Mechwarrior communities still in existence.

Hails and Salutes. Good Luck and Good Hunting. We look forward to seeing you on the field, from one side or the other. :D

================================================================

Just a brief bit about me while I'm here. I founded the team in 2000 while I was managing the official Microporse Mechwarrior 3 forums. The unit I was in had recently fallen apart due to a leadership absence with no way to transfer ownership of an active BZ team. I saw several other good units post similar stories of their struggles on the forums, and sought out a handful of capable guys from around the community to help me run a team that was built from the ground up to be a force to be reckoned with.

In addition to being the volunteer moderator of the Mechwarrior 3 forums, I beta tested post-release content for mech 3 as well as beta testing Mech 4 with a great group of guys from DropshipCommand. Some of you may also be familiar with my user-created maps for Mechwarrior: Living Legends. The ones most people would have seen were Palisades, Desolation and Urban Jungle.

I would say my strongest asset as a team leader has been my ability to recognize other great leaders and warriors, recruit them and get out of their way. Without the help the great guys I have surrounded myself with, the team would never have seen the success or longevity that it has. I am excited to see what this new community of players has to offer. Join us today and lets see what heights we can climb to together.

So you guys are putting unit tags in your names? I was operating under the assumption that the game would append a unit tag to our names anyway. Your pilot name and forum name are the same. Can it be changed after it's created?

Well I dont know I was not aware that the game would assign a tag, it would be the first one I have seen do this. I hope that if this is the case They will allow us to change it.
We have another new recruit. DDM_Vindicare

I just assumed the game has built-in support for teams, it would show your unit name the way MMOs show your guild name.

Speaking of familiar names.... here's a blast from the past. this would have to be abput 10 years ago, on the zone. We were in the middle of a large, concerted attack by a temporary alliance of teams in BZ4 Planetary play. Their idea was to overwhelm us with simultaneous attacks, so we wouldn't have enough available warriors to cover them all, allowing them to take some planets by forfeiture. It didn't work.
