http://massively.joy...reenshots-plus/

Includes a new trailer with all new footage! Mech's we've already seen, mostly weapons we've already seen as well, but we do get to see a catapult using it's jump jets, and an AC/5 firing combined with some machine guns

Imagine a mech filled with machine guns firing at you!

It would be a blinding rain of bullets.

I'm surprised to see a Swayback firing a machine gun especially when it didn't have one equipped I'm guessing it was just an overlay as it clearly isn't a swayback which should be sans AC housing. Other than that, cool!.

The game is turning out to be quite a success, and I can not wait for the open beta this summer.

I don't think it's a swayback, per se... The regular Hunchback chassis has spare energy and ballistic hardpoints. It' put an AC/5 in place of the ac/20 and filled all of it's hardpoints (including the additional ballistic hardpoints with m.guns)

My original gaff was looking at the wrong loadout, though 27 seconds into the video you see the opponents 4p hunchback which is a swayback, but it still has the AC housing. I assume it's earlier Beta Footage before that variant was modelled perhaps.

I'm hoping no 'Mech can boat machine guns to the point it ends up like...the old days. I am also hoping this criticals/tonnage/hardpoint MechLab system actively discourages boating, otherwise, I feel this game will just be more of the same old, same old.

Stock 'Mech loadouts aren't just suggestions.

Ohhhh boy this looks so cool! Why am I more excited about this than D3, when D3 is released in 3 Days?!

Well for the majority of mechs, the type and number of hardpoints will force you to bring a variety of weapon types. Obviously some versions will be more open to boating than others (Swayback with, I think, 8 medium lasers), but there are always tradeoffs to be made between different weapon types. A boat with lots of one weapon will have advantages and disadvantages in different situations.

Those 8 medium lasers will do 40 damage, but you won't be able to alpha strike all of that in one single tiny spot because of weapon layout and the fact that lasers work over a period of time and no damage at all outside the range of an m.laser (not to mention the heat!). A loadout of nothing but ballistic weapons is going to have different sorts of ups and downs (and will be harder to fit in a mech, since the ballistic weapon and the ammo are so bulky, and the ammo might explode!). There will be ups and downs to using a build of all one weapon type, and there will be ways for a smart player to capitalize on them!

The Swayback has the same big AC housing, except the front cap has 6 laser ports instead. When you see a close up, it's quite different.
