Streak SRM is now basically useless against an ECM carrying target as theres only a very small window between 180 and 200m where you can lock on and fire.
I've just tried it in my Raven. I've never seen a streak cat run away from a light so fast in my life, it is hilarious.
Aiming is now no longer 'optional' for an A1, better load up those SRM6.
The counter to all this is that everyone needs to mount and learn how to use a TAG.

it's pointless - 60 dmg nice and fine but the spread is so ridiculous that you can't even scratch the paint.
i'm done with the A1. they just removed a mech from the game (basically most rocket heavy mechs)...

Drrr I'm such a slow poster

And yes, Artemis does help SRMs. Brings the rearm cost up too

Also guys, don't forget that a friendly ECM can counter an enemy ECM.

Normal SRMs converge at 270m, 0m and ~170m if I'm remembering it correctly.
Artemis SRMs work all the way from 0 to 270 and stay nicely packed.
Moral of the story: use Artemis unless you're good at managing engagement range.
Oh, and remember to bind "open missile bay doors" and keep em open for snapshots.

Try it out, hit the "/" key to open your doors and blast away. If you get good enough at aiming you'll one-shot anything under 40 tons.

The fail be strong in this one.
1) What do you think ~80% of the brawler atlases rely on?
2) A1 still be a very scary mech especially with the SRMs. Me would actually prioritize SRM cats before other assaults in a brawl when me face both. Why? Because that 60 damage alpha + the Atlas's alpha can take me down quickly & so taking out the heavy but squishier hitter be a higher priority.
3) L2P, go get your own ECM equipped mechs to set their ECM on the counter mode.
4) As you obviously were a SSRM cat before, you obviously has no issues getting into SRM range. Why are you complaining? The only conclusion me can reach be that your aim is terrible. (.-.)

I'm glad that some people may now have to learn to play - rather than just hit the fire button.

the stupidity is strong in this one...
you're not even worth replying.
my aim is spot on but half the SRMs decide to visit china... and before i waste 750.000(!!!) cbills + the rearm costs to somewhat tighten the spread i just save it and buy another mech without rockets. all other guns at least hit where i shoot.

Umm, not to be snarky, but have you used autocannons before? They are every bit as hard to put on target as SRM's.

Long range is what makes AC/ harder to aim, besides SRMs are more for lightweight close-range power, and finishing.
