Hello community :P

It comes to my attention that we are not allowed to do a custom variants of skin and paint jobs over Founders and mostly Hero mechs. Personally, I think it is extremely unfair treatment to those of us who, for reasons of personal perceptions and design preference, will want to have their own mechs looked like they want them to. Many of us may not like the standard design of Hero mechs skins for various personal, religious, political reasons, etc. This puts us in a very situation where we have to have a mechs in our hangar which we don't like for the reason of theirs appearances - illogical, stupid and not fair...especially with the fact that we do not buy these mechs for virtual currency but for the real money. Do not argue here, some people may like the standard design...I like their standart design, but after a few hundred battles I am more than sure that I will want to get rid of their standart appearances and replace it with something else...something new.

I want to buy a YEN-LO-WANG, ILYA MUROMETS and others Hero mechs when they come out and if I would like their chassis. I like the fact that I do not have to worry on account of how much I earn c-bills per match for these mechs as they have a bonus to earnings. But the fact that I cannot change their appearances stops me at the moment from buying any of them. You see, I do not want to pay any real money for any mechs which have an ugly (theoretically) look and which I cannot change - what's the point?

What do you think about this? Do you want to be able to control the look of your favorite mech? Or are you satisfied with the fact that you have to stuck with their exterior design forever?

Share your opinion on this matter and do not forget to vote. Developers need to know that we are care about this matter...or not care :P

PS. Do not forget - we buy these mechs for the real money!

One of he Devs said he repainted his Ilya Muromets to be white stars on a black background

The paying public should be able to do the same

You are satisfied with the fact that on the battlefield can be 10 identically looking mechs? Do you not want to be able to do a custom look of your Hero mech? And why not a pattern change? Why should you or anyone care how my mech look like?

For a mech that cost upwards of $20, you can bet your behind I want that, even expect it....

...I bought the founders pack, and I'll probably continue supporting the game (monetarily) until release if other mechs I want come out or I run out of premium time. But if I don't see more value for the money once its out of beta, I'll probably just pull the plug and stick purely to premium time...if that.

So the fact you get a C-Bill boost isn't enough..?? Haven't the Founders gotten enough "LIFETIME" perks..??
.
Painting them different..?? No, we want to see the founders, then leave their "Snobby Elitist" Mech in a heap of smoking newb.
.
LOL, that actually might be the reason, I don't know... Try asking around...

It's not about your grudge for those who prefers to pay money for something... it's about customization and choice of appearance of purchased goods for people who pays it ;)

Someone's jelly ...

I think it'd be great to let us rename and repaint our unique chassis. Also, I'd like it if we could view custom 'mech names on the HUD as well, so instead of 'CICADA CDA-2M', it could say 'CDA-2M LIL_EVIL' ... (also let us rename the chassis in the mech lab, plz, pretty plz ;))

I'll have to buy a new CPLT-C1 just so I can paint it orange/white with a designation '39' once decals are implemented :D. I just feel like I've spent so much time in my Founders Cat, that I'd hate to have buy a new one just to get it to look the way I'd like. I think it's in the spirit of Battletech/MechWarrior to get comfortable and wear in a 'mech, almost live in it, so why not let us paint the ones we've spent our MW:O pilot careers in?

Just my $0.02 ...

right now, its Over-Ilya-Minomet everywhere, but this will be sorted out, soon... people will play other mechs.... then its still unique.
How often do you see YLW now ? i in 1 of 3 matches...... and the same will be with IM.

I certainly want to be able to repaint my founders mechs. Why? Because once camospecs is working properly for all mechs with a decent amount of colors and patterns I'd want my mech to be done up in the colors of my unit. With founders mechs not being repaintable I won't be using them at all because of this.

That said I'm not a huge fan of any of my founders mechs, so I'd probably not use 'em much anyways. I'm likely to keep running my Awrcher (Awesome 8T done up to be as close to an ARC-2R Archer as possible). At least until the Stalker is here, since I always had a soft spot for that overgunned beast. Or until an actual Archer is available.

Founders yes for everything, with a default button allowing us to obviously swap back to the original colors/pattern if wished. Would also like to see this pattern available to be use on other mechs, since the white head idea is kinda cool and would like to use it on other mechs.

Hero mechs are made to be the way they are, there patterns are unique, so I would say color change only so as to keep with unit colors for said group.
