So TAG means that you share line of sight data to Indirect Fire Mechs allowing them to fire indirectly.
The only stock Mech to include TAG is the Raven, which is only 1/4 obvious scout mechs.
Which means... LRMs may not be a very viable weapon in less then strict team play.

LRMs are not only for use in indirect firing from behind a hill.
Also, don't forget NARC, and don't forget that lots of folks are not going to roll with a stock battlemech

They won't all be using stock, but I bet a lot of casual players are going to forget to include TAG on their scouts.
And while LRMs aren't just for over hill shots, they aren't supposed to be able to compete with PPCs for Direct Fire damage.

Well in the videos weve seen so far the Jenners seem to be doing a good job spotting for the C1s. You think maybe they made TAG default on all the light mechs? Maybe the Raven is just better at it in base config *shrug*

Going by ALL the gameplay vids we've seen so far, there's mention of shared targeting with the scouts on almost all of them. I don't think what we've seen has been a TAG-equipped Raven every time so far. I think they have either made it (TAG functionality) kind of on for all scouts, or something similar.

TAG gear is specifically for targting an incoming Arrow IV missile artillery system strike. As I have not seen the Arrow IV listed as a starting weapon system, I do not expect to see TAG on any of the 'Mechs.
The commander modules have artillery strikes built into them. Either that includes a default tag function, or perhaps we shall see a TAG system designed to allow a commander to target something beyond their radar detection range.

TAG is on the maybe list. Although without an Arrow IV I dont know why they would need it. I suppose they could allow TAG to apply to LRM's....

If the Raven isn't given a TAG, I at least want the extra tonnage and space for armor, ammo, or weapons.
The TAG could be used to call down an off-map Arrow IV strike.

I don't think you'll have to worry about it. The devs are using batteletech build rules for mechlab, so if they leave out a 1 ton system, they have to replace it with something else to get the tonnage back up to 35. I would personally hope it comes with an additional weapon hardpoint, as that would give you greater options in customization.
