all in all the WASDIO is a great "idea"
but it lacks the features it needs to be used to its full potiential...

The WASDIO doesn't do like it should.. it needs to be like a analog device like this modded keyboard

the youtube video at about 11 minutes in explains what I mean by "analog" input..
the wasdio needs to be like the modded keyboard where you can move at variable speeds...
on the WASDIO kickstarter page, the first video shows him playing Left for Dead just like the youtube video at 2:12...
the WASDIO isn't providing variable walking speeds like the modded keyboard which for a design like that.. needs..
translation for MWO..
forward and back for steady mech speed (like a Saitek X45/X52 throttle does for flight sim) instead of adjusting it by tapping forward and backward
left and right steady for variable turning speed instead of full turn or no turn... (like xbox controller for any xbox game really)
mouse does very well for torso twising and arm aiming..
the WASDIO may be good for other games for people not to used to keyboards or something.. but it will not be good for use in Mech Warrior...
i'm not saying you CAN'T play MWO with it.. i'm saying it could be better if they approached it differently..
I also understand the WASDIO is just a HID device and therefore doesn't really need its own drivers..
but maybe they should make it have its own drivers so you could use it as say a "gamepad" and have the ability to control how fast you move for FPS
EDIT: trying to explain whats in my head better

It really all depends on the comprehensiveness of it's mapping software really... if it allows you to bind the analog throttle axis in the options menu like any other throttle, it will work fine. It's unlikely it will only be capable of generating 'w' and 's' with the Y axis since the associated software is just too easy to generate, and competing solutions are generally capable of this...
If WASDIO is to fail, (which it looks like at least it's Kickstarter will) it is because they $et the goal too high for their kickstarter, and set it during the holidays... ...marketing fail, since vaporware investors are a little thin this time of year, especially at their price. $80 can buy a number of other effective solutions that get the keyboard out of your left hand.

well I just messaged them via facebook and i'll be awaiting a reply.. whatever reply I get i'll be sure to post up..
a device like this that can actually bind the movements as an axis would be amazing..
but if it only sees the motions as a keypress then it wouldn't be as good...
