How to make ECM balanced and fun in MWO. Let’s save Stealth Mechs for the addition of Stealth Armor ok? These changes will make ECM dynamic and a bit more realistic and not a win button.
  • Mechs equipped with ECM should always get hit with 25% less missiles while ECM is in disrupting mode, even when countered and targeted. SO Mech equipped with ECM and AMS would be very protected from missles.
  • Mechs equipped with ECM in disrupt mode should go through a check every 20 seconds to determine if it will be sensor invisible to all Mechs for the next 20 seconds. Should be a 50/50 chance it will be sensor invisible for the next cycle. A Mech failing the chance roll will be visible and targetable for the next 20 seconds until the next chance cycle roll is complete.
  • Friendly Mechs operating within the ECM umbrella will have the same cycle for sensor invisibility but only 40/60 chance it will be sensor invisible.
  • Friendly Mechs that do not have ECM equipped gain no additional reduction of enemy missile hits. Mechs under ECM umbrella’s only protection is from targeting while under the ECM umbrella cycle and only when it is active due to chance.
  • ECM stacking (multiple ECM equipped Mechs) will only change chance rolls by 5% per stacked ECM.
  • Mechs Equipped with BAP will reduce ECM effectiveness range by 25% for BAP equipped Mech only.
  • Radar Range Module will reduce ECM effectiveness range by 10% for module equipped Mechs only.

Counter mode should be removed from ECM module and instead replaced with an ECCM module. Which we can discuss later. All chance rolls and percentages could be changed balanced to make sure ECM is useful but not a WIN module.
