So, I've been hoping to hold off on this one, but I think the forums need some livening up...

I've been working on Ironhawk's sexy MW:O styled Urbanmech concept:

And have been toiling for MONTHS (Read as: messing around a few minutes a week at work in my lunch breaks!) on the following... NOTE! this is not near complete as I get maybe 20 minutes a week to work on this, but it's a start.

What does everybody think so far? :D

Haha yeah,

Must admit i'm having issues with the upper body... nothing a few solid days picking at it won't fix though! I just want to get it done with now hehe...

My name is Ironhawk and I approve of this thread! Urbie is even sexier in 3D. Great job so far. Love the Atlashunters colors.

Can't wait to see the rest... Question is: will you elect to use the 63 variant or not...? Cheers!

Wow good job! :)

Use his newer Urbie-Version. It looks a bit better! What do you think?

Thanks Ironhawk!

In regards to the question of which variant i'm going for, I'm thinking I'll be heading in the UM-R63 variant's direction B)

I'm using 3DS Max pretty much just for the texturing and rendering. The actual Mech itself is being modelled in a mechanical design program called Autodesk Inventor. What that means is that curved surfaces are a real hassle to do right :)

So the '63 would be easier to do (the trashcan's lid is a bit more blocky-like hehe)... I also PREFER the look of the 63 - it's got that chunky "je nais se quoi" which pleases mine aesthetic eye.

A last note, the Textures, Concrete Wall segments, Barrels and Ammo containers are courtesy of a guy on Deviant art by the mane of Nobiax:

He is very kind in releasing, free to use, the models and textures. I am in his debt for his generosity with those!

If you're on Deviant art, have a look at his page... plenty of good things on there!
