First question is why doesn't it effect the speed of your mech. it does in the table top game.

second, does water prevent damage your weapons? for example, i was fighting a commando whos head only stayed out of the water, i shot my lb10x and it didn't seem to regester a hit. it graphically hit the water but with a lb10x its kinda hard to miss as many shots as i took.

Water will affect mech speed eventually. Currently we have issues with movement due to speed differences between client and server when entering water which we'd like to get rid of first. New movement code should take care of that.

There is a simple damage resistance system in place for weapon damage.
-Laser damage decreases linearly up to a depth of 10m
-Ballistic damage decreases linearly up to a depth of 10m
-Missiles explode on the surface and do full damage to whatever component(s) they hit.

Weapons will also be restricted from firing if they are submerged. That system will be turned on once HUD support is in.

While we're on the subject, why doesn't standing in water make any difference in my heat dissapation? It should.

Yes I have notice it does dissapate heat some ,but not nearly as much as it did in previous MW titles,in the open with no cover from enemy fire its probably not worth it..Heat Dssapation in water probably needs to be increased some to justify standing in the open

a light in the water becomes retardedly OP. i'm okay with them in any other situation, but in the water they become ridiculous because they in effect have atlas leg armor or something.

it does. it double HS efficiency if the HS are in your legs and you have them submerged. but no one uses SHS so its not something you'd notice.
