Hi everyone!

You've probably seen our big news today - Beta signups are official! But how, you ask?

First, log onto the forums; then click profile and it's right there! For greater clarity closed beta starts today! we will be inviting users as soon as tomorrow.

Secondly, how the Founders program beta/early access works: The program is purchasable on June 19th and you gain guaranteed access to the closed beta on July 17th.

Thirdly, the reason this announcement stated 'North America' is that it's for North American servers – As we have mentioned we are working very hard to launch MechWarrior Online in every region worldwide. We may also run a similar Operation for other regions, therefore we are required to recommend that for the best play experience you register and play in your region in the near future. However There is no IP blocking. You can signup from everywhere just keep in mind that if you are outside of North America we cannot guarantee your play experience.

Thanks for being the most awesome fanbase ever, and we hope this clears up your questions.

Sincerely,

The MechWarrior Online team.

So we can't (eventually) migrate NA server progress to EU server, once such server starts?

(Edit)

To make an example, when I joined WoT beta there was just NA server (which was actually mostly populated by EU players) and at one point the community was split to EU and NA. EU was the new server, and our progress from NA was transferred over and NA game account was banned/deleted. Is something like this possible for MWO?

Thank you for the clarification. You perhaps avoid some heart attack, if you think it over earlier that line... :P

Does this mean a select number of users or all registered users (in due time, and assuming their system is up to it, of course)?

Thanks for the clarification :P

Thanks for the clarification. I couldn't tell from Russ's tweet.

I went into profile under beta and checked the "Activate your Beta Profile" box.

Are we required to insert our system information in the box below to participate in the beta? If so, how long do we have to run the system profiler?

Thanks,
A

Thanks for the clarification. Being from a small country in Latin America, NA servers are the closest I'll ever see, so no IP blocking is MUCH appreciated!

It means due the Geographical situation of the servers non NA users may find high pings and face large troubles ingame.

Since MW:O it's close to a FPs simulator Low ping and high frame rate would help for a more pleasant game experience than trying to blast your oponents with 200+ ping like in Counter-strike as example.

Wait, so you buy it on the 19th and then time travel back in time 2 days to play the closed beta? :P

edit: gee I'm dumb, I missed the July part of the 17th durrrr

The system profiler took the whole of about 2 seconds to profile my machine... definitely took far longer to run than to check the hardware. Then you just copy and paste the info, and you are ready to go.

If you have a forum profile (a 'Pilot') you're in the pool for Beta once you go to your profile, and select the 'Beta' checkmark.
