Means that they are still in limbo. Much speculation. See the link for more legal info as well as do a web and forum search for "Harmony Gold". Warning: It's not easy to understand the first read through.

If they are in legal limbo I guess it would be safe to assume they haven even made the models let alone set them up ready to go..... that's such a shame I loved using those mechs it just won't be the same if they are not included 'sigh'

Unseen aren't in limbo. In autumn 2011 CGL said that the artwork is unavailable and that Catalyst is not interested in further legal fighting over the matter.
Reseen (the revised artwork from 2002) aren't in limbo either, they are perfectly legal to use within BTU IP.

Thank you. But I would add "At this time" as money tends to make people reflect on past decisions.

FASA Originally licensed rights to the designs through the animation distributor NOT the property(s) owner. Once Battletech became a hit and the games became popular world wide, the original property owners (in Japan) did a Cease & Desist legal action. The genie was already out of the bottle and FASA was able to prove in court that there was no malicious intent in their use. They were just ignorant to the original owners.
Remember this was around '89, and the only way to have access to most Manga (and Anime) was through exclusive catalogs that we would find in comic specialty shops or through distributors that advertised in magazines like 'Heavy Metal' or some independent comic licensees like Comico/Eclipse excellent Macross series.
That's why FASA felt the need for the introduction of the Clans (and Omni-Mechs in general) in '90. All of the best designs were off-limits!
Mechwarrior since 1987!
