•Make it heavy, really heavy. Then make it so any mech can equip it. Perhaps make it heavier to operate on heavier mechs. Like jump jets.
reason: so ecm mechs are more combat hampered. So the selection of one is a choice for a more dedicated role. Currently 1.5 tons does nearly nothing to make them "trade" for the ecm benefits.
Contrast this with even 2.5 tons for 5/5 jump jets and I would argue the benefits are not comparable for the whole team and its potential of winning. Also the same 1.5 for AMS (and ammo), 1.5 for beagle active probe does not have the same effect. The same level of team helpfulness per ton.
-OR
•Make hidden units detectable within a radius. Even at 400 m, this would still be a powerful tool.
My Suggestion(S) For Ye Olde Ecm

Currently your sensors get less powerful as you get closer. I figure that means this tool is hiding the mech AND producing an interfering effect on enemy mechs. Why not choose one or the other? Lets run past what that would look like:
hiding effect only:
you're team can run stealth operations.
you're team is protected from most missile based weapons.
interfering effect only:
you can render a scout helpless/useless info war wise. Or cut a brawler off.
you're team is protected from close range missiles.
Both of these are powerul tools. Both of these, as individual technologies, I would argue too cheap at 1.5, a stand alone tools.
