New Playstyle Alt+F4, Bail Out

The last 2 Days i have been noticing a new playstyle, which is annoying at last.
And i want to see if others have noticed this as well.
There are some Players out there which are so proud of there KDR ratio that they
ALT+F4 out of the Game when they are going to die.
Then their death is not recognized in the Statistik on the Killer and the one which
bailed out with Alt+F4.

So this players bails out when they noticed that they are on the losing Side of the Game.

We had this even by a Raveln-3L Pilot, he was fighting for 5-6 Minutes, then we legged him,
and when the Final Blow came: <Playername has killed>

Counting the Kills in this Game the whole team made 5 kills in the End !
There was no Disconnected Player in the Enemy Base so 3 Players seemed to have bailed out, it seems that our Premade team hit another Premade and we stomped them. Then the Pugstompers didn't want their KDR be reduced and the whole Pugstomper team made Bailouts.

In My opinion bailing out should not negate stats, and as long as someone made Damage his stats should be counted and not killed by bailing out. That would be problematic by the Players which have real problems but as long as they didn't do damage they won't get Statistic Entrys.

But it would hurt the E-Peen Pugstompers which bail out when they are beaten fair and square.
Because they Bail out the Winner don't get Damage, don't get Kill Assist Bonus and no Component destroyed bonus.

I noticed this now several Times, and the worst case was that of the Pugstompers.
And why i am annoyed about this: I don't care about my KDR ratio, but we fought well and everyoen which Bailed out stole 7.500 C-Bill from the better team.

In this Case 22,5k C-Bills. I know it isn't much but i want to know if others had the experience as well, or if i was just unlucky. We will have a Patch in 2 Weeks and when it is a new Phenomen then it would be good when PGI fix it.

So please comment if you have noticed this as well.

It happens sadly a lot. Why I always say you should only pay attention to your own K/D stat as can't trust anyone elses. :lol:

Statistics, more powerful than any weapon or armor or ECM in the game. Makes you chicken out when facing destruction, if so much caring about stats. Pathetic.

I am new to this game, but today, out of three matches played, I couldn't finish two. First time, game froze up and you cant rejoin once you rebooted the game. Second game, game simply crashed. Haven't had that happen with other games much, so I wouldn't be so quick to jump to any conclusions.

Janusi, that is understandable. But after a while you get to know names and groups. Sometimes there is a tendency for certain ones to Alt+F4 to save their precious stats. Sad but true.

Yeah but there's a difference between dc'ing right at the start and during the heat of combat/when your team gets stomped. I had a match when 2 pugs were trying to synch obviously but came in on the other sides. The 3 man pug decided to DCafter some comments and their friends bum rushed us as we were 5 vs 8. We still killed 5 of them between us which felt like a real victory whatever the screen said at the end. I've also seen people I've been shooting during the battle dc when its turning against their team (dumb as they could help sway things if they performed well).

Yip. It's always the same people which bail out though.

And yes there are legimate disconects even during firefights (had this once myself), but if you see some people disconecting everytime they are about to die is at least a bit suspecious.

Sometimes you hunt some people down, and they fight for 3-4 Minutes.
Everytime they get Damage they go in cover comes back, do lot of damage to you...
And then when you face this player because his team was demolished in the mean time.
He Bails out.

Thats the Problem not the Players which have real problems.

My Suggestion would be: If a player has done 20 points in Damage ( friend or foe) or more his death
will count as Death even when he is disconnected when he dies.

worst thing about it is the disc actually breaks the game. if they're the last mech and disc before kill you have to sit there and wait for the timmer to count up before the match finishes cause there's a death register error and the game still thinks there's one left. the stas don't mean anything considering the game is broke and exploited in it's beta state in so many ways and this behaviour kills stat credibility even more so. they say their time is worth more than anything else which is why they do it... and leave us dangling. :lol: :ph34r: :angry:

I admit to ALT-F4 exploit but only when circled by 4 ECM ravens. These people make such a team to exploit lag shield and lack of collision and an OP ECM into an almost invincible team. Such a team is a blatant exploit reaping their own fun from the frustration of other players. 1 exploits against 3 x 4 = 12 exploits seems fair. I dun do that when attacked by a single raven working with other mechs but 4 of such is clear exploit which ****** new comers off and destroys the game.

lol all K/D means is you got the last shot in that destroyed a mech. Do people really bail out because they want to keep that stat high?

I'm more interested in how much damage I do.

There needs to be more profile stats like Assists, Spotting, etc.

They should make alt-f4 eject the pilot, then he's stuck in his pod somewhere and the enemy can stomp him.

Players who disconnect on purpose are just pathetic...players who think stats are important even so. Gaming is about having fun as long as you're not earning money. The funniest thing about this ordeal: this is open beta people....stats will be reset :lol:

I'd rather die guns blazing than disconnect with my tail between my legs and I cannot be bothered by missing out on 7,5K C-Bills, since a disconnect on purpose is like a compliment to me. I saw girls running away just by gazing upon me...now I have the same effect on mechs :ph34r:

Yes they do, and i don't care of my KDR, but i care about the 7.500 (11250 Prem )
C-Bills they steal at least from each Player which had shot at them.
That was Galaybluestar said is even worse.

They get their Kills but we don't get ours.

There are two Options which PGI can do.

1) Kill all Stats a Disconnected Player achieved
2) Disable the Stats Bailout when the player has done some Damage (would say 20).


Punishment for Baile Outs via Support don't work very well in most Games,
as there are REAL Connection Problems out there.

Personally i think Option 2) would be the best. But you see that all players did damage and got XP and you had 3 Bail outs... then it is hard to pinpoint the players which did that, and you know that they are going to the toilet with a handkerchief to be proud of their better KDR for a while. Option 1) would be a problem for the Gamers which had connection Problems midgame, and would only realy works together with Option 2).

I think Option 2) only would be the best solution to the Bailing out Problem.
And the Problem will extend as soon as we get the Elo.

Eventually it will come to pass that if you are engaged in combat (ie: are shooting or have taken a hit) then you will be on a timer before your mech is removed from the match when you are disconnected

Lets people get back into the game after disconn (when that eventually is implemented) and also prevents this sort of thing.

Ta-Da! beta is beta etc etc etc

Just alt tab then... your mech will still be in game, its not like you can start a new one faster if you alt-f4
