With ecm out and about, a lot of us are using heat vision to spot sensor-hidden mechs. How about a module where you are invisible to heat. Mechs WITH this module CAN'T use ecm.
So for instance, all of the catapults, centurions, and cataphracts. Maybe, jenners could group up with ecm ravens. Sensors will say no one is there, and heat vision will say only one mech is there. Obviously, eye balls will determine there are 2 enemy mechs.
Also, if anyone interested in phase 3 matchmaking skepticism, please take a look at this thread: http://mwomercs.com/...20#entry1722420
I'm very interested in what others think, thanks.

Prefer to keep things in the lore as much as possible. Not sure if there's a piece of equipment in the lore that can do this. I don;t think so, but I stopped paying attention after the 3050's.....

You do make a good point. I know there is a camoflauge/cloak like suit but that's pretty far off from now, if I'm not mistaken.

Very interesting idea! In addition to it inhibiting the use of ECM, I think it ought to have some other disadvantages - possibly a reduction of 33% in maximum heat tolerance for the carrying mech? Speed reduction to reflect shrouded & reduced engine output? Not sure, but a very nice idea nevertheless.
This should go in the official suggestions thread / forum.

I believe Stealth Armor from the 3060s baffled heat signatures. If I remember right it also caused your mech's internal heat to spike and it required ecm present.

Actually, I think this is a better idea.

From Sarna
Chameleon Light Polarization Shield
The Chameleon system was designed to make a 'Mech invisible to the naked eye. By using a primitive mimetic system, the outline of the 'Mech carrying it was broken up, blending into the surrounding terrain. The Chameleon was very effective because unlike the Null Signature System it worked against sensor systems and visual observation.
As one of the key technology advances of the Terran Hegemony and Star League, the Chameleon LPS was jealously guarded. It was never deployed in large numbers, appearing only on one variant of the Exterminator used by the Star League Defense Force Royal Divisions.[2] (The Chameleon may have been installed on one or more versions of the Spector, or retrofitted into 'Mechs used by the SLDF Special Armed Services units however.) ComStar used the few Chameleon LPS systems they had to develop the Mimetic Armor used by the Purifier Adaptive battle suit. Later, the Word of Blake would use the technology of the Chameleon LPS, Null Signature System, and Stealth Armor to develop their Void Signature System.
Though several Exterminators equipped with the CLPS were a part of the Exodus, the Clans saw it as a dishonorable tool used by inferior warriors and mothballed it.
