I have piloted a C1 since closed beta (namely my founders one). I have seen everything from the godlike tracking and flight paths of closed beta to the uselessness of a few patches ago, to their current state.

Let me be clear, I disagree completely with the idea of letting LRMs do close to double the damage they do in table top. That being said, they are currently useless because of ECM, and it is quite difficult to tell how effective they are as of now because they hardly ever hit. (in reality this is an indication, but I'm looking at pure damage numbers here).

In their current state, LRMs either need to be boated on Stalker or left in the mechbay. I have played my founder's C1 occasionally and it is incredibly frustrating. I know everyone says use tag, but since I am stuck on river city half of the time, I still prefer the standard 4x medium lasers to tag.

The way I see it, the current set up requires them to be boated in large quantities to be at all effective, since my poor cat doesn't do the damage it should be doing, between missing half the time and having such poor clustering that only a handful of missiles seem to hit now.

An idea my friend, who plays an LRM boat stalker, and I came up with was reducing the damage per missile back to TT levels (1), but giving the clusters far more accuracy by default and re-upping the flight speed, since only 1 or two LRMs per salvo usually hit a light mech in my experience.

I feel this change would help the poor C1 actually be able to use LRMs again without being complete garbage, and generally help balance out them more so than the crap that ECM has introduced.

Another change I would like to see, if in fact ECM is not going to be changed, is the return to the fire and forget of closed beta. I know everyone hated it back then, but it is so difficult to maintain a solid lock on targets now with any consistency, I feel it needs to make a return with the current state of the game to make them somewhat viable against ECM.

If fire and forget makes a return, I would also be happy with a damage nerf on LRMs since they'll have far better tracking than they have now.

There are too problems with LRMs in my eyes.

Double damage is stupid, for LRMs and SRMs.imo.

Of the maps we have so far, there are very few places where you can use LRMs other then as indirect fire. The maps are too tight and close, you can't use them in direct fire because you never have that direct shot, unless you are within the minimum range and then they don't do anything. Frozen City is the worst in this case and for me, I don't know why, but it certainly pops the most. Caustic Valley being the best and for me the least popping. So its not just the ECM or anything, its the maps as well. Why brawling is so popular.
