Also saw no option to remove the chat radio from front page as I fond it so important to know that Cheesy McDingle has a new ReMix out. Oh how about the option for MORE SERVERS for our Foreign Brothers.

Hahaha, yeah I noticed that too. #MWO as far as I can tell is also a hashtag used by a hip hop radio station haha.

I'm with Buddah here. CW is way down the list for me. Maybe 1 year from now or something at the current rate of new maps.

If CW doesn't come out till a year from now the player base will be dead. The game is starting to stagnate right now, you have to strike while the iron is hot.

A new mech or map won't have nearly the impact that the beginning of community warfare will have.
THINK ABOUT IT

btw, what is this mythical lobby you guys are going on about? We have the group lobby where people ready up, and there's TeamSpeak and Ventrilo.

You should participate in the Run Hot or Die tournament. It's a lot of fun due to the thrill of competition. http://www.runhotordie.com

The lobby you're thinking of is simply the group functionality for dropping into random games. A lobby would be a screen where all the players in the room join up on two or more teams and the host has the option of deciding what map to play, what the weight limits are, the game type, the length of the match, etc.

I guess devs got the message about the netcode concerns finally.

So how about that player lobby.

Seriously, a basic player lobby will do, but even allowing custom game modes and allowing players to adjust the rules and the settings -- it could be glorious. You can make it so custom games don't track stats or reward C-Bills or EXP, so they wont be abused by farmers.

Offering players more ways to enjoy the game will do nothing to hurt your game, and can only help it.

In a way im happy P3 match making didn't make it in, competitive 8 man like RHOD can continue.

On the other hand it is sorely needed for the single que, part of me hopes it was delayed pending implmentation of a rudimentary lobby : Ie they listened.

But then part of me looks back across a string of choices...and goes...nope.

I want a built in VOIP that automatically group you with your drop group. For example, if I pug and drop in game with 7 others, I would like the VOIP to automatically group us with VOIP so we can talk during the game. That would help with new user experience, lobby, pug vs premade, actual tactics during game. But VOIP need to have mute on selected users if abusive.

New user experience - can help explain to new users what to do.
Lobby - can make new friends and add them.
PUG vs Premade - be less of an issue with everyone communicating. (Premade will still have a slight advantage of always playing together and learning from their mistakes, but it will be less of an gap to hurdle)
Tactics - Will be more then just lets rally here, stay together. Can call out targets or to tell lights to flank right, etc...

Just my 2 cents

You will find this option already in place in another poll

While I voted for netcode #1 and clan wars/community warfare #2, that second one I mean to refer to the fully-developed Inner Sphere meta-game experience, which is not the same thing as simply enhanced matchmaking within player control. The meta should really be a separatre selection.

Thank you OP. This is probably the very best poll I have seen on the MWO Forums since I visited in early closed beta. It's also probably the best poll I have seen on any forum in a long time.
  • Netcode
  • Balance
  • DX11/Graphical Features
I'm a lone wolf. I pick up and play and have fun.

Netcode issue is so well known that I don't think I need to comment further.

Balance... I still feel like some weapons (and mechs/mech variants) are overused and others underused. I realise that there will always be a 'flavour of the <defined time period>', min-maxers and personal preferences but something like the Awesome, Dragon, LB-X/10 (just as quick examples) are either slightly out of balance with the rest of the pack or completely underutilised. Information Warfare, Groupings and I would consider Matchmaking to be under this umbrella topic.

DX11/Graphical Updates: The game, as it stands, looks very very nice but can perform a bit like a dog, even on quite hefty systems. DirectX 11 will likely bring some new problems but over time should provide an FPS boost or a graphical improvement for similar FPS to a reasonable proportion of the user base. Graphical improvements offered by the upgrade to DirectX 11 would be the bonus for me, not the main reason.

Looking at this, my choices are rather selfish. Netcode improvements help everyone. Balance? Well, if may improve variety and cut down on some of the builds which we loathe or reduce the amount of stomping matches but on the whole, I'm probably selfish for wanting some of my favourite mechs and weapons improved.

DX11 really is selfish... With an i5 2500k and HD7950, I have more computer muscle than a large amount of the user base and I would benefit from such an engine improvement being released. Looking at the latest Valve Hardware Survey something like 88% (give or take) of Steam users have a DirectX 11 capable OS and there are a boatload of DX11 capable cards to sift through but a very rough tot up gives me about 30% of users having a DirectX11 capable card (whether they could play MWO with it would be another matter entirely). Even if we assumed that the Valve Hardware Survey was representative of the computer hardware use on the whole, DirectX11 may not be an upgrade for most people.

Sweet poll mostly because of getting to see how certain items increase in importance as the priority goes lower. I think it would show good examples of what to fix after the netcode. For me after the big one it would be a better lobby, I say that because a proper lobby should (in my admittedly limited scope of online games) allow for better match making/custom and private matches/community warfare/banning certain mechs/weapons/equipment/etc.

I'm not too shabby when it comes to lag shooting, but it's bad that it hurts new players who probably didn't do Mplayer back in the dial-up days. Anyway, I have pure, unadulterated, blind faith that it'll get fixed... some day.
Yup.

Net code, balance, elo/new user experience.

Community warfare would be number 4. The first three are IMO most important to health of the community for community warfare to even matter, the rest beyond these four are just gravy.

For me I picked
1: Netcode - we can pretty much all agree that this one is a major problem including game play wise.
2: More Maps - Relatively quickly made, we could use more maps, I would really like to see some completely new places, it would help make them game feel more varied.
3: Community Warfare - adding more depth to the game play is never a bad thing and CW gives us depth.

on the other hand the three that interest me the least are:
DX 11 - I can't run it anyway.
new mech lab features - the mech lab is more or less fine for now.
Better UI - again this is pretty ok as far as I am concerned.
