Back in Closed Beta, the Atlas default skin was great. It had glowing eyes, somethin you could see from afar - sure, great help for snipers, but it just look great.

I want that skin back. That's something I'd probably pay MC on even if it's not reusable, because I know there is little reason to change the skin/camo if I can have it.

For anyone that wasn't there or doesn't remember, you can see it a bit in this video: http://youtu.be/TfUxUmJ8OAI?t=1m19s

(Unfortunately the video has a lot of fast cuts when it comes to the mech action, so you won't get the experience of coming over a ridge and seeing several pairs of eyes in the distance...)

I think the current atlas model, is nearly perfect... maybe the foot animation could be better. but thats it.

It wasn't an animation thing - just something like a camo, that made the eyes glow.

You can see it in this video, for example: http://youtu.be/TfUxUmJ8OAI?t=1m19s

They should make a camo for every 'Mech they make with a glowing cockpit :)

Yeah, I do miss the glowing Atlas eyes. My first few closed beta games, it was a bit intimidating to see a few sets of those on the other side of the Forest Colony map.

To be honest the production Atlas right now doesn't look very intimidating at all. Especially because the 'eyes' slant upwards. They should be fiercely angled downwards. You want a scary looking face, look at Corvo's mask.

The reason they're not there anymore is because people complained you could spot them a mile away and snipe them. Still though, they glow now already, they just can't be seen from a mile away.

Well that's entirely subjective. Personally, I find the slant of the eyes more effective. They're very unsympathetic to the wanton destruction it's about to inflict on you. Plus, it goes with the "ugly and foreboding" philosophy behind the Atlas.

I there was an "absolutely not" option I would have clicked that. Nope I don't want them glow, it just gives away your position, which is a little bit unintelligent since we are speaking of warfare and not ceremonial marches..

My first Action in Combat:
Get on a good observation point, look were the Headsignatures are, look at the shape of the Heatsignatures...
Go in Cover report movement.

i won't have ANY Benifit by Glowing Atlas Eyes for Spotting, on the other side, it is realy fightsome when you move around a Corner and the ECM carrier is not a pesky Raven but a D-DC...And when his eyes would glow, i would alt+f4 instandly...
(no i won't)

I never really liked the look of the glowy eyes. Then again, I hate the default Atlas head currently anyway. Looks lame compared to my founders variant. Makes me wanna avoid getting any other Atlases for my skills.

Ugly, yes. Foreboding? No.
To me anyway.

All PGI needs to do is adjust the glow falloff. It should glow, but not be visible from that far away.

Again, entirely subjective. We all have our own definitions of what we find intimidating. I think downswept eyes look really cheesy and cliche, myself (and yes, I realize my sig features an Atlas with downswept eyes). But hey, to each his own.

There were two No answers and a few Yes/Undecided answers. Your answer could indicate you're schizophrenic. But in case you are, i'd say you got it right.

I am not sure if it's any consolation to you, but I actually answered Yes, Hell Yes, and Are you mad? We've got a trillion other problems, and you waste the forums on this topic? (the 3rd question is why I made it multiple choice).

When they put in the "Cockpit light" key (.) I thought that this would turn on the Atlas' eyes. Unfortunately not :D

I also miss the different coloured head (White skull anyone?)

I'd pay maybe $1-2 for a glowey eye skin :D

Hehe ya, I can remember zooming in a time or two and counting 5+ glowing eyes heading to my position. That was psychological warefare at its best!
