I don't know if it's a bug of intended, but you can't convert your Mech-XP to G-XP after you sold the specific variant already.

I just sold my 2 less-useful Hunchback-Variants after I've reached Master level with the 3.
I didn't think of converting the rest of the Mech-XP before selling and now I can't do it anymore.

Would be nice if that was still possible after selling a variant.

Currently, as far as I can tell, if you do not own the mech, you cannot use any of the interface in its mech tree.

I don't see this as being a likely thing to happen as then they can't get you to buy the exchange with MC, it'd be too easy for people to strip the mech and sell the chassis then rebuy it and exploit a faster/free way to get GXP.

I doubt this will be done, I have nearly 700k mech experience stacked up on 1 of my more often used mechs.

It would cost me over 20k MC to transfer all of this mech exp to GXP so I doubt I would ever be allowed to do it for free by selling this mech.

The OP isn't suggesting doing it for free. The interface currently prevents you from doing it at all if you've already sold the mech.

Buy mech. Earn XP. Sell mech. Try to click the "EXCHANGE XP" button. You can't. You have to re-buy the mech in order to click the button.

He didn't mean for free - just make it possible by spending MC.
You can't do it at all now.

It's a UI bug, it has to be. Makes no sense for PGI to prevent MC usage and therefore sales.

I did not suggest to get GXP for free when selling the mech.

I just want to convert the rest of my unused Mech-XP to GXP (by spending MC as usual) although I already sold the mech from my hangar. Right now, this isn't possible.

I think the devs got my intention, that's what counts...
