I cut out the end of the match, it was painful.I have to "lead" with a laser. a weapon that fires something at the speed of light. ballistics I have to guess where to aim.
That's really the whole issue with this, no one knows where the hell any of these lights are. they are moving faster than the servers can keep up with.
video highlights:
Commando: I got lucky as hell. teammate, not so much.
fire and "hit" 1: animation looks like I hit, but no damage registered
wtf laser: i'm "hitting" 2 mechs ahead of the target.
fire and "hit" 2: again, the game thinks I hit but no damage is registered. There's a huge explosion and everything!

oh good another one of these threads

the PGI netcoders have been touching nothing but net, cut them some slack because they literally have gigs of code to rewrite by hand and then run and tweak and run and tweak and run and tweak and run and tweak and run and tweak and run and tweak and run and tweak and run and tweak and run and tweak and run and tweak and run and tweak and run and tweak and run and tweak and run and tweak and run and tweak and run and tweak and run and tweak and run and tweak

any coder knows that. theyre working on it.

Just run a light like everyone else is starting to do, or alt f4.
Problem is, the tweak is in the same spot as it was months ago, maybe they need to just take the lights out of the game until they have a fix for it, then test it :)

yes, another one :) I atleast spent the time to edit a video that actually shows what the hell is happening.

other fun facts:
I was getting 50ms pings that game. it's not internet lag
I have a i7 3770k, 16GB of memory and a GTX680 for hardware. I get 40-60fps with fraps running. it's not video lag

That commando was hardly lag shielding at all, that equal to the best they ever get on my screen.

There was an enemy Raven 3L running around in the water yesterday, with I and two others trying to kill it. It was running in circles streaking, and I kept registering hits on it, on my screen, (it's armor would flash) but it's armor wouldn't go past light yellow. I appeared to hit it over and over with 4 medium lasers, and it never took further damage that I could see. I tried various leading attempts, as well as dead-ons, to no avail. I even tried broad leg sweeps. It eventually killed one of my teammates and then ran off, still showing just light yellow damage.

It's sad, because I used to love piloting my raven, but now it just gathers dust because I refuse to be part of the problem.

I envy your ping, with my current 120-200 ping, I have to aim further than you did.

I was told that there are no Netcode issues and that I should instead learn to aim.

Devs please stop wasting time on non-existent netcode issues.

New generation... They're freaking even about the necessity to lead ahead of the target.

It has much less to do with ping than you think, though high ping does make the netcode issue worse. I've unloaded SRMs into stationary lights with 40 ping and not made a dent.

Read the post Brillig linked for additional information.

Okay OP, I've watched your video and I think I've figured out what your problem is.

See, lasers are a "damage over time" (DOT) weapon. That means they only do damage when in contact with a mech. Well, I am sorry to point out that yours weren't in contact with the enemy. This may be the problem you are experiencing. I would recommend that you keep your lasers pointed at enemy mechs instead of pointing them at walls and/or the ground.

I hope you can use these suggestions to become a better gamer in the future.

I watched the video too. I didn't think it was lag shield.

You are leading the same amount for lasers as you are for ballistics and you wonder why they do no damage? You do know that light travels faster than bullets, right?
