Hi there,

Tonight both my friend and I were piloting Raven 3L's and noticed that our aim cursors/direction of the mech kept getting "nudged" by an invisible force.

We could be running in a straight line on a nearly flat surface, make a small turn then suddenly the server would turn us slightly in a random direction.

Needless to say this made normal aiming of lasers as well as streak locking very interesting at some points. It was like having a cute kitten on my desk occasionally swatting my mouse when I was trying to line up a shot.

It does not seem to be ping related as I am in Europe and have a 130-150ms ping, while he is in Canada and has a sub 30ms ping.

It seems as though the server is now telling us which way we are actually pointed with much more force than it should, and/or overriding our movement instructions to make us go where it thinks we should be going.

My guess is this is related to the ongoing netcode work.

i've the same problems now, my ping was before at around 120-150, know 200+, also the view is jumping. thats still annoying if you want to aim.

i know there was an lack in the netcode, which caused that lights were not that easy to hit, but actually as european an light mech (i play jenner most of the time, before someone cry's "ecm srm bot blah") is still not really playable.

I had a similar problem with my Hunchback yesterday, though I wasn't in a flat area, which made it even more interesting. I was near the rim of the caldera in Caustic Valley and in addition to my facing direction getting randomly changed, the actual placement of my mech was also randomly changed so I'd be in the caldera, then suddenly on top of the rim, then back down either inside or outside of the caldera. Only happened once, but lasted a good 30 - 45 seconds and I was unable to do anything. I'm surprised I didn't get killed in the ordeal.

Yep experiencing the same problem here, the effect becomes greater the faster you go.
Also SRMs have terrible delay that they didn't have a day ago.

The SRM delay is not funny when it accidently TK's a friend X.x

I encountered this intermittently about 11 hours ago, but it was completely fine for 6 hours before that.

Been experiencing this as well, since the previous patch. I also used to have 150ish ping, but now I always have 210+ and the constant nudging and lag-stutter is awful. It also screws up my mech speed: if I try to slow down, I stop, then accelerate and stop again. It makes maneuvering a nightmare.

This glitch is absolutely horrible. It is the most gamebreaking thing I have experienced so far. I have been lucky to not have the 4 fps bug, but this is almost equally awful. I'd even prefer having yellowscreen every game, at least that way I could still move correctly.

Thanks for pointing that out Orrin - I saw your post when I searched before creating this one but didn't think the issues were the same by the title. I was noticing my reticle/direction jumping/nudging much more than I was noticing my mech rubber banding itself. Then again I did end up through the floor at one point on frozen city last night.... that was a little scary.

Happening with all my lights... frustrating as I'm trying to get the last elite on my Spider 5V. :P My ping hangs 95-100 and I've seen the Raven two-step more often since the last patch... laser fire also still seems to do nothing... though my Heavies are having a better time connecting with their AC's.

I was hoping it was the netcode telling me where they actually were. ^_^

Your aiming / torso being moved or "snapped" to another position is the server correcting your client.

Your torso when you fired was not actually in that location (according to the server) , it was where you got snapped to.

Its the same thing as turning and then snapping back as if you had never turned constantly.

Either your lagging / dropping packets on your end, or somehow what they did has screwed you, but fixed my end by a ton. (no snapping or warping here and I dont have to lead by 4-5 mechs now!) 230+ms ping.

This is an interesting observation - you`re in Australia [230 ms] and it has dramatically improved for you, while people close to the servers (me in Europe[140ms], my friend in North America[25ms]) are now getting rubberbanded around and having our aim moved.

I wonder if others are experiencing this too?

One theory could be netcode adjustments that now poll everyone at the lowest common denominator (highest ping) making us all take the same number of "turns". Just an uniformed thought.

Ok, so after doing some testing, I think Frozen City may be the cause of this glitch. I am not 100% sure of this, but so far my experience has been as follows:

I get the glitch, I restart the client, I get River city and the game runs fine. I get Forest Colony and the game runs fine. I get Frozen City and the glitch starts. I restart the client and I instantly get Frozen City Night and the glitch is there; now I'm not sure if Frozen City caused the glitch or if the glitch wasn't fixed by client restart. I restart the client and get Caustic Valley and no glitch. I'm pretty sure the glitch is caused by Frozen City. In addition, I've heard Frozen City causes the '4 fps bug' for a lot of people. Shouldn't such a bugged map be taken off the map rotation?

Ok, more testing ongoing.

So far, the results:
Caustic Valley, ping in 200s but no nudging or rubberbanding.
Forest Colony, ping around 140-150, no nudring or rubberbanding.
Frozen City Night, surprisingly, ping around 140-160, no nudging or rubberbanding. May it be that restarting computer may occasionally fix the glitch? Could Frozen City still be somehow linked to it? Stay tuned, as we return to the show at a later time!

Im also getting this along with for example. Run around an edge of a building and im cleared it on my screen and a second later im banded back and running into the building and then shot in the back and killed.

I am seeing the exact same issue in my Raven 3L (ping of around 35). i have seen it on every map I have played. I get the reticle getting yanked to the side (almost looks like it is trying to recenter my torso all the time which is horrible). I also get terrible rubber banding when in combat (doesnt matter the map but it is more noticeable on maps where it smacks me into a building). At this point I need to not play because I am too worried about coring an ally

As soon as this happens, I usually get disconnected from the game and back to the start menu.
Happens 50% of the time.
