Here I would like to talk about the Omni Mech hardpoints and what I think should be done with them.
If you would like to see what ideas I have? Please keep reading.
If you are sick of seeing another "I want Omnis to be like this" thread? Why are you even here in the first place?
If you rant about there being too many threads like this here? I will report you for spamming.
Lets get started.
1. I find that only swapping hardpoints between "variants" to be too restrictive. To me, we should have an open selection to choose from (for that Mech) and freely swap hardpoints how we please. (Yes, even in the CT.)
However, this may be a bit too complex. Here are the hardpoints for the Timber Wolf's arms.
(1. X1 "E" Hardpoint
(2. X1 "B" HP
(3. X1 "M" HP
(4. X2 "E" HP
(5. X2 "B" HP
(6. X2 "M" HP
(7. X1 "E" X1 "B" HP
(8. X1 "E" X1 "M" HP
(9. X1 "B" X1 "M" HP
Just think how bad the TW's up to 3 HP "missle pods" would be.
2. Instead of having various Mech chassis (like with Battle Mechs), they should be various versions of the same Mech chassi (like with OMNI MECHS! ). As such, they should take up no mechbays and you could make as manny as you wish.
3. Just befor the mach starts, if pileting an Omni Mech, I would like the option to choose what Mech variant I wish for that very map and game type.
4. When I first buy a new Omni Mech chassi, I would like the option to set up the HP and weapons to my liking befor purchasing.
Okay everyone, what do you think? (Me? I just wish I did this seven hours ago when I was more awake. )

There are too many threads like this!
Well, you just say you want them to be OmniMechs. And i could not agree more.. But they did not do it and never will. They need the 3 variants system to not have to redesign whole new systems.. And to take more 'Mechbays so we have to buy more of them And i will have to do since i am going to master Timberwolf and maybe Stormcrow.

I feel for Clanners & the screwing that they are getting.

The Clans had Configurations not Variants. Do to Logistical reasons most Omnis Pilots had to run Configurations that were preferred by their Clan. Only certain Pilots were allowed to deviate from these configuration. But, there were times when higher ranking officers gave orders to reconfigure Mechs for certain missions.
