Daily Login Rewards

The flash sales are awesome and seems to be working well. SO I think it's time to revisit the idea of having daily login rewards.
My idea is to give players 5 MC for the first completed match of the day. That provides a very small amount of MC to free players (well all players but you get the point) as well as increases logins that will boost the overall population. At 5 MC/day that means after 30 days a player would accumulate enough to purchase a mech bay.
Now this also (in my opinion only but based on years of gaming and other personal experiences with F2P titles using a similar system for premium currency) boosts other sales. let's say I've been letting my free MC accumulate and I've been saving up to buy something specific. It's kind of like Christmas. The closer it gets the more the anticipation builds. So as I get closer to my actual goal amount I decide that instead of waiting another few weeks I'll just drop $10 on some MC and top off my MC to go ahead and make the purchase early.
If a player logs in for xx consecutive days then give them a unique cockpit item. I can't see a downside to this and I know it's been suggested before (but I didn't see any open topics on it) but I think it could be just what's needed to help boost the population and ease a little of the complaining regarding the economy. The amount is minimal so it can't really be gamed much but it's enough to give you something to push for.

Oh, and give a huge c-bill bonus too... maybe based on post count...
But make it a surprise, one time thing.
You know, to prevent exploitation.

lol that would be interesting
I think giving a little incentive to login daily would do wonders for the player population and retention. While we're at it I'd give a flat 150MC (enough for one mech bay) to all new players once they finish the cadet bonus period. This is one of the few F2P titles I've ever played that didn't have some way for free players to obtain premium currency and with the new UI it looks like something they would be feasible now.
I'd also lock it to IP addy so you can't have a player just creating multiple alts to game the system.

I'd keep the rewards minimal but yea I'd like to see other kinds of rewards as well.
25MC for fifth win of the day type stuff would be awesome. The only problem is with mech bays being so cheap they would be easy to grab opening up slots for free mechs never giving a player a reason to buy them. Maybe a different type of reward for that?
I could see maybe getting a free cockpit item or a decal slot or something cosmetic for those things but again rewards for it would be a great idea in my opinion.

Could make it tiered with 5Mc for first day, 5 Mc plus 50k chills for day two... and so on and so forth until the seventh consecutive day with one match or more you get a day of premium time.

Getting free MC for doing nothing? That's bull***t.

It's not doing "nothing" its getting players to login and play at least one match a day. 5MC is a very small price to pay to increase the population numbers. Most other F2P titles that use this kind of model have SOME kind of reward system like this.
If the rewards are kept minimal then they become small rewards that won't break the bank.
Maybe 5 wins in a row you get a one-time use camo that lasts 72 hours?
Stuff like that doesn't HAVE to award MC

If I had an MC for every forum post...

Please. That's just so friggin' lame I wouldn't' accept them even if they had them. The only incentive to play should be if you're having a good time playing.

To bad double mechXP is mostly worthless. At the very least they should add Cbills to the "first win of the day" award if that is all they are willing to do.

I totally agree. The double XP doesn't affect how I play at all now... If it was double C-Bills, I would probably log in and try to win a match in as many of my mechs as possible every day.

I don't think you understand.
It's actually a good idea for boosting daily numbers despite being "lame"

I'm not saying they did it first. They just have this exact thing.

Studies show that in a F2P game model, the biggest hurdle is the first micro transaction. After that, the dam is broken and players are far more likely to make future purchases.
If giving a few MC away as a reward for playing daily helps get more players over that first micro transaction hurdle, then it would be well worth it for PGI.
That said, I'd personally prefer a daily C-Bill bonus... I jumped the buy stuff for money shark a long long time ago.
