The Gauss Isn't Working

we had a guy who installed the gauss, had no clue how to use it......and better yet, another team mate taking the time to try and explain it to him. With replies of "hold the mouse down" etc.
I typed in (towards the end of the roll stomp) "oh god we had someone learning to use the gauss"
got a retort "at least I know left from right" and "quit being a *big fat meanie"
*filter wont allow the real word.
I'm really at a loss about the left and right unless a) he's seen me dance he typed in some awesome command directing all of us to do something amazing and I missed it .
Finished with max damage on my team, by....about 100 damage points
I got a couple thousand battles under my belt and the first thing I do when I get a new mech is hit the training grounds on the hottest maps (wheres my clan targets btw?) just to test it out.
Or if patch notes say the power at be screwed with something, I hit the training grounds...
Pity you aren't forced to use the training grounds if you clamp a weapon on you've never used before. [/rant]

"and better yet"
Your tone suggests that someone attempting to teach him was a bad thing? Isn't filling him in better than leaving a team mate without a primary weapon?
Yes i can understand a degree of frustration here, the training grounds should probably have been visited, but come on it wont be the first or last time someone drops without a clue, the gauss does act completely different to everything else...
Stroke your ego and share your knowledge next time

I sense this thread to be going somewhere fast.
EDIT: Though it is true that newbies not knowing half the game mechanics is a problem, and it'd be good to see tutorials be stepped up in the future. However, they way you went about it wasn't called for.

Aaaaand we wonder why new players don't stick around as much as we'd like.
Pro Tip: Be helpful. Be supportive of someone learning how to use a new weapon instead of being a... well, I will refrain.
Just be nice, dude... it's that simple.

I used a gauss all the time in my atlas. Put 2 of them in my daishi as group 2 and I just couldn't get them to fire. I switched them to group 1 and suddenly they were working. At the same time I know my mouse buttons were fine because I was able to fire ppcs when I moved them to group 2.

We were all noobs at one point. Next time try to help and teach instead of ridicule.
So it hurt you one match out of hundreds, it isn't a big deal. Its a bigger deal when you are mean to a new player and help ruin his experience with a new game.
I'd just try and be more considerate next time.

DId you just quote... yourself?
If I went back and looked at your posts, do you "like" all your posts too?
Honest question. 90 posts, 60 likes...really?
You're trying so hard.
And for the record, I think people genuinely like what I post. I think it just goes to show my character.
Sad to say, we can't say the same about you.
