Maybe they should remove the generators and make it about killing all the defenders anyway , that makes a lot more sense than a gun!
Defenders could be confined to defence area , but they would have to stop people spawn camping (a lot of that goes on due to the proximity of spawn vs objective).
The real problem is how to spawn then? Any method will be exploited if at all possible, there are players that just want to win at any cost and don't care if it is wrong or right the way they do it! Spawning will always be the real problem though!

If you drop in a disorganized, non-communicating pug (and no, clipped and rushed typed messages don't cut it) vs a decently organized enemy... you're going to lose.
The Clans are not OP. This is proven by the fact that despite holding a significant range advantage in weaponry... they have made very minimal inroads into the IS in nearly a full week of CW.
I've only dropped in about 20 cw battles... every pug i've been a part of has lost, except for a couple defends. And conversely nearly every CW battle i've dropped in with my RC brethren when we've had 8+ players has been a win.
You want to win? Join a good unit with decent drop leaders and communication.

I was making no political statement just stating the facts
Not complaining not making excuses not saying I am good or bad
We got our butts kicked
But we teamed up and just won at Brocchi's cluster against the Clan

no, that's impossible
IS mechs never win
PGI should get right on this!
I've proven this to be true because I lost a match to clan mechs once.

this above all else.
no, you don't need to join a group or unit. you simply need to accept that you can't rambo and lone wolf your way through CW matches. That's really all there is to it.

I'm actually gonna go ahead and blame PGI only allowing them 1 planet per front to actually attack per day to flip.
Brainless PuG A in a Timberwolf is gonna kill Brainless PuG B in an Orion pretty much 100% of the time.
