I'm the type who has to have three variants mastered so if I buy a Timber I can't stand having one mastered and two basiced in my bays. It's compulsive I know.

I was forced to get the Mist Lynx and what a bad mech it is. Once I'd mastered the prime and played enough games to convince myself that I was good enough to maintain 1.0 k/d ratio with it I used GXP on two others to save time.

Does anyone else feel bad about using GXP?

Nah. I normally save it for unlocks, but for the time being, I have all the unlocks I need.

Now, as soon as I get basics out of the way, I use it for speed tweak. NO GUILT.

TBH, reading your title, I was hoping you were confessing to cheating FOR REALS - not because I thought you were a cheater (far from it) but because if there is one thing I do feel guilty about, it's the level of enjoyment i've gotten out of the shenanigans and drama from the recent shenanigans and drama. The reddits in particular are a guilty pleasure right now. Heh, r/mwo is BURNING.

SDR-5D was easy thing. SDR-5K was average. But SDR-5V (that variant with two energy hardpoints) ...
Dozen times I wanted to spend GXP on it, but I resisted. But I admit that this was the only 'Mech when I was really tempted to spend GXP.

Nope, I dont feel bad at all about using it. My only regret is i cant use it on mechs I want to get but dont have and tha I dont have enough free xp to convert.

and OP is Reported. I can see if it was a funny topic or interesting way to start a conversation... but having a Thread titled " I cheated" and its about using GXP (which is a part of the game and hence not cheating) and not actual cheating... especially right now with the PGI communicating about Cheaters and hackers is plain wrong.

I use GXP to speed tweak on everymech i ever level. I'm not about to pilot a mech that is slower than it could potentially be. Thats why I always keep around 200K GXP and always convert on double coversion sales.

Nope... IMHO that's what it there for.

It seems quit ridiculous to grind through a chassis you absolutely can't stomach when one has GXP sitting there gathering dust.

One day you will regret spending gxp on something that would take you a night to do for free. Hell ive been eliting/mastering 2 of my locust the last 2 days(the srm one is painfuly bad unlike the hugin).

Using GXP to unlock mechs is one of the worst things you can do in this game, that and converting.

Meh.. I got more GXP than I know what to do with. I've been accused of a lot of things but a pack-rat or thrifty is not one of them.

QFT. Still haven't mastered my 5V, even though I guess it's quirked to high heaven these days - the scars of running it when it was released just stops me from dropping in it.

And I won't use mah precious GXP to not play a 'mech.

It took me 70 matches to complete one Mist Lynx AND make sure it had a 1:1 ratio. I only found two viable builds. C-ERPPC in the right hand or 1 C-ERLL and 1 C-ERML in the right hand. It wasn't fun and the thought of having to do it twice again was unbearable.
