Once you have unlock all basic skills on the 3 variants, what is the plan ?

Focusing on 1 variant to unlock all elite skills or grind the 3 variants ?

Whatever you like. Most players just keep the one variant they like the most and master that.

However, if you don't have 3 mechs of that weight class elited you will have do so to unlock the master module slot.

I have stormcrow, variants C, D and Prime.

What good build can I do, using parts of these 3 and without buying more stuff ?

This is your friend.

And it depends on the "purpose" or role you intend to fulfill.

For the D...
Give lights and mediums the sour end of this D.
(Use your own armor placement; that's just the default armor for "max" button. I don't want to give away how I do my own armor and it's up to you to think of how to place yours for the best results.)

This design is intended for use with "Armlock Off."
Next: The "SRMs" are arm-mounted, aimed by the "O" crosshair. Use left CTRL for advanced aiming.
The "Streak SRMs" can use the O or the + crosshair to acquire locks (not both at the same time [sadly]). By using the Arms ( O ) to acquire locks off to the side, you can actually make your missiles turn corners!!!! Awesome, right?

Set SRMs as primary fire (Group 1). Streak SRMs as group 2.

Enjoy your epic win machine. And remember, if you're not going faster than 81 kph, you're going too slow in a Stormcrow; keep your speed above 81 during combat and run circles around single enemies. Never face more than two enemies by yourself.

Good luck.
