Are you talking about the trial (C) one? It has quite a nice build for a trial mech. The atlas is more of a close range brawling mech.

You'd probably see the direwolf everywhere if the trial version had cannons.

It's insanely tanky, and while slow it can mount serious weapons. A few good light pilots can pick it apart. Like I said, everything about it is slow. Saw the most amusing build on one earlier 2 lrm 20 and a gauss rifle. It died real quick to my cheetah. Man I love being under tiered.

the King Crab is not the most used Mech, I am pretty sure that will be the Timber Wolf, Thunderbolt or possibly Stormcrow, I tend to see at least 2 each of those for every King Crab

Main weapons can engage from basically all ranges, can keep up DPS, and hurt when you get hit by a volley. 20 Damage is not insignificant when it keeps coming, and coming, and coming.

breakdown of the 100 toners

Atlas, best brawler, most durable, low hardpoints mean it is at a disadvantage at range
Dire Wolf, best fire support, most firepower, slowest, least agile, near worthless at close range
King Crab, best balanced, can be faster and more agile than the Dire, can better use mid-long range weapons than the Atlas.

in a long range Fight the Atlases low hardpoints mean it does not stand much of a chance, and the KCG will probably loose to a Dires supoerior firepower.

in a mid range fight I would bet on the Crab or Dire, this comes down to loadout.

in a close range fight the agility and durability of the Atlas will probably win, the Atlas with 2-4ML, AC20 and 2-4 SRM racks will likely outmaneuver and kill the Dire, the KCG has a chance but I still think the AS7 would win that.

Nope. Trial mechs.

Side note: Atlas in action recorded by a "Camera" Commando.
