So here are my initial impressions after playing around for a little bit in the testing grounds, and I will update this thread throughout the weekend as I test more. The following are pretty major in my opinion:
  • The energy draw system itself seems more intuitive than ghost heat. There is an actual in game UI, a plus.
  • Heat Penalty needs to be increased. I can fire 6 PPCs without shutting down. THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN.
  • SRMs (and LRMs I guess too?) need to have .5 energy per damage instead of .75. Brawling is utterly garbage with this change.
  • I feel like energy recharge should be upped to 30 from 20, so that you can fire a second 30 point volley after 1 second as opposed to 1.5. Otherwise it is a severe disincentive to bring lots of weapons, which weaken assaults overall. This should also help out brawlers.
Smaller things to note:
  • Gauss should have .5 seconds shaved off the cooldown.
  • LBX40 Kodiak is the new brawl king.
  • Jump snipping meta is back on the menu boys.
  • UA/C double taps are in a weird place with this system. Not sure how to immediately fix this.
