PGI has stated their intention to use Quick play maps with drop decks into Faction play.
This suggestion would be to make the mode different than QP with re-spawns (like FP) but use the existing framework of the game.
There are 4 'mechs in a drop deck.
There are 4 types of QP modes.
Why not make it a Campaign?
Suggestion:
Player picks a 4 'mech drop deck. (i.e. Light/Medium/Heavy/Assault)
The mode is played in 4 rounds. (i.e. Skirmish/Conquest/Domination/Assault)
The player can pick any 'mech in any order.
All 4 battles occur on the same map.
The team that wins 3+ battles wins a tile. (2-2 draws are possible)
But QP is supposed to be QUICK, so what do we do about that?
1. Make Campaign battles 8 vs. 8
2. Shorten the timer to 8 minutes (total game time 32 minutes + mech selection time)
This would give players 4 very different options:
1. Standard QP (12 vs. 12, no re-spawn)
2. Scouting FP (4 vs. 4, no re-spawn)
3. Campaign FP (8 vs. 8, sequential drop deck)
4. Invasion FP (12 vs. 12, re-spawn drop deck)

Too much is already present that slows the game drop rate and divides the player base.
8v8 (instead of 12v12) might speed up drop rates. But I suspect people would complain.
They also need to stop adding frivolous doodads to maps. We don't need a bazillion trees and birds and graphically draining/fps dropping stuff.
While it looks great.... it makes the player base struggle to keep up with the FPS demand.
I've noticed on maps I never used to lag on, after they upgraded them.... I have times when I do lag now.
Keep the game playable and faster paced, PGI.
Keep it straight up mech smashing fun.
