Then it doesnt matter cause it isnt thing that hampers heavy gauss usage.

Its a big bomb which you need to strap to side torso. This alone should make you never consider brawling with it.

Just passing through - charge mechanic is pure evil and should be removed from all gauss rifles. Having them blow up from smallest bit of damage, high weight / low ammo per tonn is bad enough.

Remove it, or lower it t the level of the light Gauss. And then make it so you can charge only one Heavy Gauss at a time. Then adjust cooldown and range to taste. And perhaps put Gauss Rifles and PPCs into one ghost heat category.

Charge up mechanics is fine and relatively easy to use, AND at least some diversity in different weapons mechanics, so it's fine.
If you want to make HGR usable whatsoever - it should be 10 crits, so it could be equipped with LFE or in arm. MWO is no TT, and we don't have crit splitting, so there is no reason to keep 11 crit size. Like no reason at all.

It cant be used in arm even if its 1 crit.
Thats the special rule for hgr.

of all gauss rifles that need their charge removed i think its the light gauss. with how devastating the hgauss is, biggest single gun ppfld alpha in the game. removing the charge from that, no. its a powerful weapon and im going to use it with all the disadvantages that come with it.

you want to fix something, like all the missile systems, or the way too hot hlasers.

Hgr need a buff to range mostly as they are, ac20s are better and lighter.

Played it some more, it's good. Charge up is good, recoil is good, feels powerful at close. Still, unless it's 10 slots and can be used with LFE - you'll never see it.
