How many will remain in a faction or leave when the clans become available and go for the clan tech?

EDIT: Clansmen, please do not vote (It will throw off the numbers) and please post civil.

Not even the clan tech, I just happened to join JW so naturally I'll be joining a clan I suppose.

That depends...
How well do the clans pay?

Merc 4 Life.

[edit] Yes I am aware that the Clans hate mercs and consider us unworthy of Zellbrigen and such.

The Clans are a bunch of vat-grown posers with delusions of relevancy. They handicap their mediocre piloting with stupidly broken tech, and think that combat means making personal challenges and duking it out one-on-one. Their sense of "honor" is entirely arbitrary and leads them to countless atrocities against those who don't happen to know what the arcane rules of their foolish society require in a given situation. They have no respect for humanity, for the rights of man, for religious belief, or for life generally. They are nearly as crazy as the ancient Spartans, with a reputation just as inflated and just as flimsy.

In short, not just no but heck no.

Right now no, they seem like a bunch of crazies that need to be slain.

I'm not sure how tempted I would be if joining the clans is the only way to get a Vulture. Do I lose my old mechs?

If the answer is yes and no, then joining the clans is a pretty tempting offer.

Just saying.

Neg, freebirth!

Clan Mechs will be "Easy Mode" and only piloted by "Pro-Gamers" interested in crutches to their E-peen!

(And counting the time before the Forum Police have this unceremoniously moved to the "Clan Section" *rolls eyes)

Naw, but seriously, don't have any interest in the Clans. If I did, I would use a separate account, probably. But I would prefer the challenge of kicking them in their teeth and shipping back to Strana Mechty in tiny little DNA samples.

That's assuming that "Joining" a Clan will be just that easy?

Unless there is some type of cosmic shift that magically transforms the game engine into supporting Elemental play or Elemental call-in strikes for c-bills, and other infantry and armored warfare game mechanics that Clan Hell's Horses exemplifies, I'm going to stay Inner Sphere, baby.

But I don't mind picking up some clan salvage for the lyrans.

There will be no need to choose between IS and Clan; because in all likelihood, players will be able to choose both an IS faction AND a clan faction.

^_^ I put this here because it is a question for the House/Faction members.

Now back to the matter at hand...how many of the corrupt and dishonorable will "jump ship"? hmmm? :)

We're hopeful that PGI finds some great and innovative way to maintain game balance IF and when they introduce clan tech in such a way that players can become Clan....our faction is already clan :)

Federated Commonwealth is far superior than some silly test tube babies. I suppose the Dracs aren't too bad at handling them either.

Well, I'd go for the Wolves-in-exile, but they won't exist for quite a few years yet. Otherwise...? If I have to make a mutually exclusive choice between clan-only and IS-only during a time period where the Wolves-in-exile don't exist, I'd probably stay here. On the other hand, if they *do* let you be both at once, I'd happily drop with the Wolves.

Clans are for people who need to compensate for their "short"comings. They're so honourable about dueling that they do it in a mech three centuries ahead of their opponents. Reminds me of European knights wanting trial by combat against peasants in the Middle Ages and calling it fair trial.
