Because it seems PGI only seem to care about money and what they think is "cool". Emailed them a few weeks ago about an issue with the game and they pretty much told me to "go away".
I wish they would prove me wrong...

Actually it's pretty solid. A very Atlas D-like build. The medium lasers, single SRM 6 and AC/10 are heat efficient. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z8mw2_SabwY This had 4 medium lasers, SRM 6, LRM 10, AC/2 and AC/5 with the same engine. So it's quite doable.
