Greatings warriors.
I think most of you got a lil mechwarrior experience through books, games and tabletop. so i want you to think about one situation: youre sitting on an enemy planet, dropped by a unionDS, and have no ressource or backup base, only your rendevouz-point with your unionDS (think about AA, stationary defence, LF/SF Fighters and so on. and you have to finish the mission. kill all enemy mechs. but you through this have only this backup point(union), doesnt mind if you finish mission or are on the run. so you only have this one OP-point in this game(doenst mind that you always got to take out the enemy team^^). and you got this one target. so what you do? rush all in and risk loose of your only base? or try some other tactic? cause there´s also a game mode where it only counts what tactic you drive to got 3 supply points alive to win... so it doesnt matters if you loose that starting point (union). hope you got what i want to tell you, cause all the flaming about capping sucks annoys much... you have to kill my team AND guard your base. you suck at this...? you loose.

sorry, just my 2 cents. maybe cover drop point by a union or turrets helps(i would join in the chance to fight a _D_rop_S_hip again like in old games:) ). so team got time to react if base is attacked. but i think thats lame. good commanders/warriors are aware of such things. 20-30 sec no contact by marching on the 7 line? go for their base and know theyre doing this too...

your post is a rambling paragraph that makes no sense at all.

? tell me why? many people flame against capturing the start base in conquest mode. ive tried to give this people a look where they understand that guarding the last base, rendevouz-point, or what ever you want to name it, that they have to guard this point. and not cry if failed this throug a guy that smells a chance for a quick strike. you risk the lives of your men if you can win by a quick strike?... doenst think not.

and pls excuse my spelling, no englishman here^^ and if i was to rough, pls sorry me. wasnt in my mind as i was typing this, i only want people have a look of the other side of medal.

The problem is not necessarily the idea that you're trying to convey, but rather, the format is.

That being said, I believe that the point you're trying to make is that there needs to be a greater reason to try to win by cap on conquest. I can say that I agree that capping on conquest needs a makeover. Specifically, I think that something that can help encourage capping is to implement an exp reward on a per cap basis.

I understand what you mean, Frederick. The second language makes it a bit hard. His point is that in the MW universe there are *lots* of cases where base defense matters. Like dropping on a hostile world where your DS only knows two rendesvous points... Thing is this is also a game where people want to play match modes that they like... Which means we need a team deathmatch mode soon.

I'd be surprised if there were not any asymmetric game types at some point.

Something like only one side has a base they have to defend? I would like it if the maps were bigger and the base location was random. It would also be really neat if the base itself had some sort of static defense like two or three medium laser turrets with something like 50 HP (to discourage lights from just base rushing)

Right now we only have 4 maps (day/night/snow do not new maps make) and those maps are only 1.5kM or so across. We need something like a 4-5kM map.

No, just the last post about base rush capping wasn't even a week old and was something like 16 pages long or something. Can't remember. The 25K C-bills (minus any premium bonus) is what you make from base cap rushing.

kk, thx for the fast answer. i wasn´t looking for pro/contra conquest mode, only tried to give people a "scenario" where they understand that be beaten by enemy base capture isnt the fault of the "lame" capping team. more a fault of leaving a vital point open for the enemy (in my thinking).

by that way and like one said.... if you manage to capture there should also be a bonus (think about a dropship/base with lots of ressources that you capture.). cause in my thinking tactics/battlefield tactic awareness should also be honored, not only good aiming and moving skills

Ps: a few of you make me think its bad to be not an primary english. cause as much as every post/thread of me get that "you type weird man, leave the cookies^^" comments. not cool guys... think about the people who are not primary english, and do all to play and understand that game. and your english postings. so please feel free to be a bit more "foreign user" friendly.... and dont forget that there are countrys that have make things like nbt, netmech, and so on made possible through their hardcore and staying fan base

Thx warriors, have fun and always a handful of free heatsink capacity to your mech.
