Both sound and visual from MW4 were bad. The sounded way to "pew pew" in MW4.
Though, I'm not crazy about the Gauss sound in MWO it's light years better than MW4.
And what happened to the visual distortion (like a warp effect) that went with the Gauss slug back in Closed Beta?

A gauss round is a metal slug magnetically accelerated, it shouldn't leave weird blue helixes around, that's the PPC's job.
But it'd be nice to have a fabulous distorted electrical sound, yes...

Maybe the sound from MechCommander 1. That might be my favorite, it was just a deep pop.

This is what a real life gauss looks like though.
They go so fast they set the air on fire via friction.

Distortion trails would make sense, since such a high velocity round would force the air around it out of the way. I think such things would be dependent on how fast the gauss round is traveling though.

That's a Rail Gun, not a Gauss Gun... yes, there is a difference and yes it's a pretty big one.
