Converting Mech Xp To Gxp -- Please Get Rid Of The Slider

The issue arises because due to me being unable to specify an amount, I can only either:
get close to the amount of GXP I need,
OR
go over the amount of GXP I need, and end up using more MC than I wanted to.
Simple solution:
get rid of the slider, and put in an input field text box. It only accepts multiples of 25 for XP, or any number for MC.
Voila.
Anyone else have this issue?

Apparently people don't have this issue.

If 2000XP = $1.00 in MC, then you couldn't convert less than 20XP at a time, because 20XP = $0.01. So if you needed 15XP transferred to GXP, then you have to do so in lowest-acceptable increments.
PGI can't get rid of the MC cost because transferring XP into GXP is a function of convenience, and convenience is what costs you in this game. If you want the convenience of dumping all your XP into the GXP, you pay to do so, otherwise, keep playing to earn GXP at its normal rate.

I figured it was self-explanatory, but if anyone has messed up, it needs to be more apparent that's what you're doing.
On the other hand, it would be much easier to let people know what's going on if they either:
1. expanded the box
OR
2. got rid of the slider
because both of those would leave room for, as Zypher put it, 'the big font should be warning you that you are using MC.'
He is correct, though, in that this isn't something which people should be able to do accidentally. If it were very small amounts of in-game currency, (meaning you earned it in-game), then that would be different. Seeing as how it's real money, however...

Right now I have converted 0 xp with MC Right now i have this list mastered.
Jenner x2
cicada x3
catapult x3
cataphract x3
dragon x2
Atlas x2
I have others close to master but those ones are done. I also have all the modals done as well. I just don't get why you would pay MC to convert it. I mean right now I have over half the mechs mastered, and all the modals and I have spent less time then you would to grind to level 30 in most RPGMMO type games so I just do not understand with the XP system that is so short why would you bother making it shorter you would not even have time to try out the mechs with enough load outs to really get a feel for it as it advances. I believe if they would have doubled the price of all xp items. for each section and the pilot stuff then maybe it would be some sort of grind not a few games and you have it all.

Well I also plan on getting all the mechs in the game, but right now I only have eleven (although I have almost all the mechbays I need -- a new hero mech just got announced, and I need to account for the Cataphract models). Then again, I also have tried piloting some of the mechs, and I hate some of them, so I would very much dislike earning XP on them. I also have a few mechs, (namely, my Catapult K2 (energy build), my Atlas-D (Omni build [meaning all-around, not omnimech]), and my jenners (all 3 of them, but especially the D and K models)), which I REALLY like playing. I have enough XP on my atlas to take it from Basic (0 skills) to fully Mastered twice over now, and I already have the 8 basic skills. My Jenner-D has enough XP to go to from Basic (0 skills) to fully Mastered four times over, and I already have the 8 basic skills.
The issue for me is more like what Shiney said than what Atayu said: I have a ton of XP doing absolutely nothing right now. Squat. Zilch.
In essence, it's useless right now. If they add more skills to individual mechs, I'd have an incentive to keep it.
*shrug*
I dunno, maybe it's just me, but I don't necessarily want to play all the mechs in the game just to master them. I prefer certain play-styles, and those don't tend to involve Medium mechs very much, so those ones would be the most trouble for me to master.

Good suggestion. I too would be loathe to spend MC on XP exchanges; however, if PGI is going to offer the option, then they should allow for something a bit more exact than a slider. I could wax on about this, but the issue is pretty simple.

True, I know that this applies only to people who want to use MC, and thus not to the entire user base, but I also think of it this way:
As you said, "If PGI is going to offer the option, then they should allow for something a bit more exact than a slider."
Which can also be simplified (and added to) by saying, "hey PGI, more people would be willing to spend using MC if they could control the exact amount they used", quiaff?
