Why did you have to hold this on the same weekend as the tournament? I was looking forward to doing some nice relaxing grinding and instead I have to wade through mountains of cheese.

Doesn't seem inviting to new players considering all you will be is farming bait for all of these experienced players.

Hmm, suppose I'll have to keep putting off getting into the game ~ an honest boost would be to give everyone a little bit of something.

How do you attract new players, or does that matter?

I haven't played at all, the moment that founders e-mail landed in my inbox I sort of wrote off this game.
I don't have the money to pay out just because I genuinely support something, I'd rather have food and electricity and all.

So honestly, if I went ahead and dived in would I just be farming bait like I think? I sincerely imagine I'd just get mowed down over and over without much of a chance to fight back, after all, I don't even know how new players start off (selection of mechs or ..well anything.).

And just to mention, if there was perhaps a 5% bonus to new players (fresh recruits, so to say ~ people who are completely new/first time playing this game) I would of probably already started but considering it is only for hero and founder mechs (which I assume are only purchased with real money...) it makes me less inclined to want to play.

Yes I did, it gave me some certainty that I can probably pilot well.

I had no problems in MechWarrior 4.

when you move the mouse, your arms lead your torso and your torso tries to keep up at it's own speed..

and the reticles don't stay in the center of the screen like MW4, so it'll definitely take some getting used to.

I'm familiar with such a movement style so I guess it will just be a matter of orienting myself to be able to use it tactically and strategically. Anyway it'd be nice for the developers to consider new players when they have events, as it can easily drag in new players, which means new possible avenues of revenue.
