Some guy on the enemy team said that it'd block out my password, and proceeded to type in all asteriks like so: **********. I figured what the hell and typed out my password into the chat and pressed enter, but it wasn't censored. By the time I realized that it was a clever ruse to phish for my password, it was too late.
Why doesn't this game have such a feature? It's the year 2013!

2. PGI doesn't store your passwords in a way that would let them block it from chat., and either way it would be a vulnerability at best.

If the game client has it resident in memory, it is potentially possible to scrape that information.
IIRC your password is only used to authenticate your server connection and then doesn't come into play again.
What you are asking for is fundamentally less secure than how it currently is. Instead I would suggest embracing the idea to never ever type your password in anywhere other than the password box you are trying to log into.

I have assisted two Nigerian princes so far, but they have not tripled my initial monetary investment as of yet. Perhaps I didn't donate enough money and they couldn't raise powerful enough armies and were hence summarily executed in an extremely gory manner.

If in fact the story here is 100% true 1) This out ranks Leroy Jenkins on my DA scale. (if you don't know Leroy a quick google will bring him up real fast)
2) You might wanna leave any type of PC/online stuff for the grown ups. I can just imagine you clicking the e-mail from your bank asking for your info and to log in.........
3) Ron White could never describe this lol.
