And this is why people roll their eyes at PGI.

ELO, meant to make matches more fair, and games less one sided, more enjoyable for all.

Looks like you had a Davion 4 man. That's enough Davions to pull you down several Elo notches.

Edit: Seriously tho. If the matchmaker doesnt match within 2min for either party it relaxes restrictions dramatically.

The problem you describe is EXACTLY the biggest problem right now short of the saga of ECM. More people will certainly help, but unless the MM strictly limits weight classes like it used to, no matter what, your going to get more and more of these mismatches.

I guess it will take a while to really get Elo sorted out. I feel like there has been some improvement in the few matches I have been able to play.

Seems to be a gold thing.

Maybe you shouldn't have farmed up your stats. Because, you know, high stats mean you have to fight others with high stats.

MWO is the Sparta of PvP gaming.

Don't you know MWO is only for intellectuals!

Back to my SRM cat!

Yes, because we all know everyone is to blame for farming stats, the ELO system is working as intended ;)

Besides, what does ELO have to do with totally borking the weight matching. I can understand limits being relaxed to favour quicker matchups, but this is the equivalent of a bank teller saying 'Forget this, I'll just round it up to the nearest million.'

He can't hang with the spartans.

Spartans don't pad stats.

Working as intended for me, and everybody else I know, with few exceptions. We never farmed the ghetto, though.

See the difference? You have thousands of points you can't back up. Now you're getting recked. Bite the pillow.

That's my point though, you're going through all the threads posting the same thing about 'thousands of points' and 'ELO farming'.

What does throwing the weight matching completely out the window have to do with ELO?

Not to mention the fact that this '2 minutes before we match wider' thing is a huge myth. I've not had more than a 30 second wait so far.

Ton for ton matchups won't save you from the carnage when there's a war boss in your match. I know Axen Vormar, and I can tell you he kicks a lot of arse.

Other examples:

Despite our team being 1 man down, the other team's war boss couldn't stop the copious amounts of limb chopping, XL engine popping and back-door boot kicking I was giving people that match.

The Elo god of Mount Tryhard requires the occasional sacrifice of slagged mechs and broken egos in order to give us good matchups on a regular basis.

Oh, you know, because there never was any weight matchmaking to begin with, so what are you whining about? It matched classes, but never cared about weight-

It never has.

funny thing is if you actually look at the numbers it was a medium and a heavy that kicked your ***, their assaults put up abysmal numbers...

maybe you should ask them to nerf twentyone, not elo ;)

Seriously do everyone a favor and log out of the goddam forum and stay logged out.

All you seem to do is just talk crap and accuse people of "farming stats" and "everyone is a terrible or evil player for playing with friends in organised groups other than yourself" when we have legitimate complaints about what is clearly broken non balanced weight drops in random games (this isn't CW yet and I know it may be deliberately be unbalanced in the future) this never happened so badly and so often before the last patch since we went open beta. We have teams with 4 assaults vs 1, teams with 4 lights vs zero and so on.

I think we have a right to comment and complain compared to the way teams were more balanced in their weight classes before this patch.

Take your supremacist/forum epeen attitude elsewhere please.

Doesn't matter though does it, the point still applies.

The class mismatch there is pretty clear. And there wasn't any of this mythical 'oh, if you waited 2 minutes, it searches wider' nonsense either, because I've not had more than a 30 second wait so far.

That would be relevant if damage numbers were the only indication of success.

LRM boats and LRDF Gauss/PPC snipers do vastly disparate amounts of damage, but to claim that that means LRM boats are clearly superior would be a completely facetious argument.

Elo should've started collecting scores when it was released, not 2 weeks earlier. People just got inflated scores from pug stomping and are ruining the whole system from the get go.
