??? Are you saying that you want MWO's hardpoint system to be more like MW4's? Because personally I wasn't a big fan of MW4's.

Are we still getting all bunched that a mech with all missile slots is boating?

....is it the K2, we can't be complaining there, we have phracts, they do everything better.

Did the op get AC20 ravened? because that would be great.

MW4 mechlab was bad and you should feel bad for reminding me of it again.

i have to admit that mw4 sucked for it hardpoint restrictions cause there was only 1 type of atlas and 1 type of catapult so you didn't have to consider really what the mechs were going to carry it was either the close or the longrange version.

now MWO has the golden opotunity to be a better sim and with more chassis varients available giving mechs cutbacks and buffs to their hardpoints in crit slots to portray the graphic size of guns the mechs actually have would make this a far more interesting indepth game than we have now.

before you think it i'm not saying nerf the lot oh no i'm saying a barrel of an 8q should carry 3 weapons but only 5 slots worth and really a raven shouldn't be able to carry an ac20, that's what the urbies are for when we get them, you see how more variety and more valuable for quirks all the mechs could have? if we had use of both the current and the mw4 system intergrated into MWO?

MW4 hardpoints were a far better system than MWO implementation. In MW4 each variant was actually different from each other.

MWO should have introduced the concept of hardpoint size/type (small, medium, large, special) but probably it is too late now that the game has been released (and please don't fool yourself with this open beta thing).

I would probably support a small modification to the current system to make hardpoints not only laser/ballistic/missile but also large/small laser, ect. So in a small laser slot you put small or medium lasers and in the large slot you could put large lasers and PPCs for example. However I'm fine with the way it is and I rather like the way PGI did it.

you could have me there, only played vengence so as far as i know about mw4 there were no other hardpoint configs with corrosponding graphics to each chassis. there were no varients in vengence tht i remember, you were stuck throwing energies into your uziels arms and that was it. MWO has the graphics to have lasers in the hunchback instead of a just an autocannon and the 4p 6 e slots is perfect but only by nature of its weight can you not put in 6 lrg lasers succesfully but being able to do that at all is silly.

No thanks. I prefer having to actually deal with the consequences of engine size and heat sinks.

What MW4 did you play, again?

Then do not punish me or my mechs for running endo/ferro/DHS. Those were "integrated" into the game. This incarnation of the mech critslot system is unique, what would be allowed to run an AC20/Gauss? Your altas? I really see how that is fair and balanced.

Id have no problem with them color coding crit spaces for max size ballistics. For example, the K2 gets 3 color coded slots on each side torso for ballistics, meaning you can't use more than a 3 crit ballistics in that slot. Works and would make the game far more diverse and specialized.

Or even better, add recoil and weight to weapons, nothing would be better than to see a splatcat do a backflip every time it alphas
