Is there any particular graphic setting that tones down the black smoke when you get hit by weapons at close range?
Ever since this last patch it seems to be worse than ever. Get hit by weapons at close range and I may as well get up and go get a soda because I can't see a f****** thing out the windscreen.
Is anyone else seeing this?

Yeah, same here. But I noticed it happening even before the last patch. However, I figured this was an intentional benefit to certain weapons - much like how some guns will severely rattle somebody's cockpit upon being hit to throw off their aim. So I simply took note of what was happening so I can return the same in kind in later games.
In other words, just return the favor. Do unto others BEFORE they do unto you. Also, if there's too much smoke in front of your windshield, take that as a sign to get the hell out of there.

I and many others have this problem, its a bug with the HDR and bloom system, its being looked into since forever, its not a high priority.
