From a canon standpoint, Sun-Tzu Liao is the Lord of the Second Star League. It's only a matter of time. And the only way to reach that future is to step on everyone else on our way straight to the top. Who knows, maybe it won't even be a Liao at the top when that time comes. There's a lot of room for expansion and promotion in the Capellan Confederation.

But the simple answer is that relations are strained, to put it lightly.

My two favorite things about Liao..

• The citizens love their Warriors, and the Warriors love their citizens.

It's not just a job, and it's not for personal glory when it comes to Liao Warriors. It is legitimate love for their home and their people. When a Liao soldier fights, that soldier is fighting with every fiber of his being because his home is the most precious thing in his life. This is vise-versa for Liao civilians. They love their military forces. They have nothing but the deepest admiration and respect for those among them who are willing to step out onto the battlefield to defend them.

• They're Chinese decedent and influenced by Chinese culture and heritage. I am also Chinese so there's just that feeling of automatically fitting in.

Actually, lore-wise, Chinese descndtas are like 15% of the house. Just the fact it is ruled by a family that has Chinese ancestry makes the Chinese descendants stand out.

Still, being Chinese it's a good place to be. I wouldn't discount the value in that.

Well this has certainly been productive (don't tell the other forums, but I think you guys are in the lead for my house).

In summary, Liao is a small, well trained, and individual loyal group that understands the pragmatical nature of the universe they live in. They don't bother with pretenses and unabashedly believe in themselves and each other.

Design standpoint: They claim the Raven, and the Cataphract, One of which is heavily technical and the other which can mount five auto cannons ( )

Leadership: Is.....crazy? tactical? All of the above and not simply a dictator as in Kurita? Something like it. Whatever it needs to be in a given situation.

So that's what I've gotten out of it. Anything else that I should know?

Frost, as fanatically Lyran as I am, I would implore you to respect the ability of the Liaos. As much as I anger Liaos and they anger me, their skill should be respected. If we Lyrans did not have such a worthy enemy, this game would not be worth playing.

Well, in the strange alternate Battletech universe that is MWO, Steiner and Davion should be united as the Fedcom in this timeframe, but it is not. I am sorry to say, but Liao has better pilots than Davion in MWO, convince me otherwise and I will post a response like this on the Davion forum.

obviously, when intent is masked with alternatives of ill will; which will be met with steadfastness by all of Capella...
