True and your most likly also right since I've payed for it, it can still act as a placeholder when there are commercials on tv

No they dont ..

This is just stupid. Just because you don't see how LRM fights are hard doesn't mean that they dont take skill. Sure aiming is fairly easy (although I would argue keeping TAG on an ECM raven at 750m is pretty good aim).

But weapons are not just about aim. It is about position, timing, knowing where your teammates are going, and anticipating where you will need to be to be able to get a line of fire without getting too close or getting left behind. A good missile boat pilot is able to get in position quickly regardless of the mech. A great one is in position before the fight even starts.

His problem appears to be not liking LR fighting. Which is fine, and his prerogative. But MW game should NOT be about 1 range class of fighting. LR or SR.

Additionally, be aware that people are just getting used to an actual big (ish) sized map and a new mech which IMO works very well with LR configs. Both of those things are making the loadouts longer range than they were last week.

I don't mind a little of everything, i just hate that now every other mech is sporting PPC's or LRMs, its a problem before but not a major one, there i could just exit and find a new match but now .. well

As the title says .. after this patch I've played 10 matches, and all have been lrm n00bs and snipers all around, just so they could be ready when the "big map" showed up, sadly..

Best game I played recently was a team of ALL snipers in River City. Seriously, every mech has a PPC, ERPPC, UAC/5, or similar long ranged weapon, even the light mech. In the end it was I on one side and on the other a wounded mech and an Atlas. My team was ahead on points in Conquest by almost double because they spent the first part of the match mostly sitting up on their base sniping anything out in the open moving towards the points only slowly.

I managed to finish off the wounded mech as they closed in on me to stop me taking points. I was in my Raven missing an arm and the Atlas was mostly unharmed and had multiple ERPPCs. In other words he just needed 1 good shot. So I never gave him that shot and just kept ducking and dodging and trying to stay ahead on points, which I managed to do. He was swearing at the end.

It was fun and shocking to have mechs suddenly disintegrate after stepping out of their base and crossing the water, even AS7-D-DCs barraged down at long range while they trundled forward with their 3 SRM6s, AC/20, and 2 Medium Lasers.

LRMs take no skill, and the more missiles you have even less skill.. Every missile boat I've met stands in the two or tree spots there are on each map an fires his missiles .. requires no talent .. its like the good sniper positions in every other FPS game.

LRM's take a ton of skill in every map except Alpine. And even then I'd say they still take skill.

When I first started with LRM's I would be at like 150-200 damage because I didn't understand that just because I could target someone, didn't mean I'd hit them.

LRM's are all about maximizing opportunities. Just locking on isn't enough, you need to lock on and make sure your missiles have enough time to hit. Otherwise you are just shooting and not doing anything.

Throw in the ECM and TAG meta-game and there is another wrinkle to it.

Lastly you need to know when to move when a fast light or medium is around, or if you get caught offguard by a bigger mech. Most LRM boats don't know how to do that and die.

Because you are upset about being matched with/against window lickers (if I understood you correctly). Higher Elo results in you getting matched with/against players with higher Elo, so you get out of "steering wheel underhive" ™.

This might come as a shock to you .. I have played with LRMs my self .. like i had to know right.. i know how to maximize them, but again its "not rocket science" <-- haha,

PPCs are very popular right now because they can neutralize ECM, and, yes, there's a big map on the rotation. Any new feature is destined to be popularized. This thread contains too much of the "can I have your stuff" stuff, so I'm moving it to the deep end of Jettisoned Communications.

If you've played LRM's you know how difficult it is to be an LRM boat in all of the maps except maybe caustic and definitely alpine.

Unless you are within 300-400M (you shouldn't be that close), a good player can easily avoid your LRM's. I'm never scared of LRM's on forest colony or river city. Between my cheap AMS, the normal 1 or 2 ECM mechs that land in my PUG and the fact that it takes 3-5 seconds for the missiles to get to me, I'm able to avoid most damage and torsotwist to make sure that any I do take goes where I want it.

Reasonable people can disagree, but I would point out that you have probably never seen a really good missile boater. Im not great, Im ok. But I have seen a few guys who literally (witho comms) have missiles inbound within 2 seconds of a short range group turning a corner, know how to conserver their missiles/when to stop firing, dont let themselves get cut off or flanked and also dont let themselves get rushed.

Firiing LRM's is easy. Doing it well is VERY difficult.

About what - Elo matching? Yeah, reasonably sure - you can read devs' posts about Elo and see for yourself.

Well lets agree to disagree,, Reasonable ? I'm not Reasonable I'm frustrated .. and what you say might account 1% of the people in this game, its the 99% other people I'm talking about .. and the definition of a n00b weapon is that it requires nothing to be meaningfull which in turn means that with a little added skill and IQ its super deadly .. again my point
