Seriously. I look through the forums and see nothing but bitching. Nothing but bitching. Every topic is "this equipment is broken" or "nice lagshield bro i quit this tournament" or "blah blah is way OP, PGI plz fix".

I've been playing Mechwarrior games since I was about 7. Hands down, it is my favorite fantasy/sci-fi series of all time. I've played every single game to date, save for the very first one, and the fan made "Living Legends". Naturally, when I was finally able to play Mechwarrior: Online, I was very stoked. I loved it. Everything about it was amazing, save for the limited number of 'mechs available at the time. I took a small break to give PGI some time to implement more features, and have only a few weeks ago made a return, only to find more wonderful changes and improvements.

I absolutely love playing this game. Everything about it is magical to me. I don't have problems with "ECM ********" or "hacking" or "lagshields" or whatever else everyone seems to be complaining about, and I just don't get it. Am I missing something? I know there's going to be bitching regardless, but this just seems ridiculous. I pilot a customized C1 Catapult (my favorite 'mech, always has been), and consistently am on the winning side in matches, usually getting 1 - 2 kills and approximately 300 - 400 damage each time. I never have felt cheated in a match, and I almost always end a game feeling satisfied, even if I died, and even if my team lost. It's a fun game to play regardless.

Can someone let me know what everyone's so mad about? PG has done a phenomenal job reviving the Mechwarrior franchise, and I couldn't be happier with it. We should all be thanking them.

When I take my Death's Knell out to play, hell any non-ECM light mech, I wreck anything but another light with an ECM and streaks. Sad thing is most of them cannot aim without them. I have no logical argument to change this, but I digress, other than that this game is awesome.

To be honest, a lot of the things that complained about are pretty small potatoes in the grand scheme of things. However, if I am going to take a stance on anything it would be against ECM, only because I personally feel that it lowers the enjoyment of the game for everybody. Except maybe the guy using it. And his buddies. Ok, maybe I just don't like it. Really it has come quite a long way and I'm proud of the progress. I could barely believe I spent about 10 dollars on paint a few weeks ago.... But it was worth it. I hope they keep changing the game and don't ever decide "this is good enough"

simple fix but you're not going to like it... stay away from forums they're nasty.

playing the game is far better. stick to that and you'll be fine!

I'm trying to inspire people to be thankful for this game. The developers have obviously put a TON of time and effort into this, and it has come out spectacularly. I was just expecting the Mechwarrior community to be a bit cooler than this is all.

Sadly some can't even aim with streaks. I've spectated (and seen some videos of) people in streak/ecm lights who can barely keep their crosshairs on their targets in order to lock on. They miss a bunch of easy streak shots and the battle winds up going way longer than it should (or worse, they lose it).

Unfortunately, it seems that the vast majority of people on the forums will always ***** and the few of us (probably a lot more than we think) who are content with this game do not really post on the forum. Thats pretty much human nature, make a lot of noise when you don't like something and blissfully enjoy it when you do. I don't actually know anyone who has a real gripe about the game, certainly no one i play with.....

I agree, man. Haven't been having this much mech-related fun since I was like 8 or 9

Don't get me wrong, I think that (for instance) the electronic warfare part of the game needs some work and want to provide feedback on it, but at the point that you're not having fun with an intense tactical game about giant robots shooting each other something has gone horribly wrong.

I've been on hundreds of forums over the years and there's one constant.

Silent forums means dead game. People posting, even to complain means that they're still playing.

To expound, it means that at some basic level they're still having fun. You know who never shows up on the forums? the people who simply stop playing, or aren't having enough fun/don't care enough to post on a gaming forum.

Though I am not going to lie. ECM is broke from a game and lore standpoint. While other similar gear is just not on par.

Weather and nighttime is also annoying. Though not game breaking.

However I do have to remember (as we all do). This is still officially beta.

Given a choice between no mechwarrior and this as it stands, im very very very happy.

As much as i admire your altruistic attitude. In cases like this, people express their gratitude with their wallets. If people didn't like the game, they wouldn't pay, and you would be on another games forums making the same post.

The people you see on forums for any game complain about something. Part of the problem comes from people wanting the game to be like something else. Another, comes from the saying "Can't please everyone". If you try to please everyone, you get a watered down version of what it could be.

Many are thankfull. They just don't voise it very much.

I'm quite content with the state of the game right now and I've pointed out so in more than one thread. I also have really high hopes for the future of this game.

However, I also like how some threads break down into deep, compelling discussions and brainstorms about features and things. It's just really interesting to see peoples' opinions of features, potential features, what people would like to see implemented and such.

There's plenty to complain about, though, and certain things will never change if nobody complains about them. It's just...so many people do it in the wrong way. People need to be more constructive with their feedback. It's not hard to find those people, though, or those threads. But sometimes even the best debates spiral down into chaos and it's always disappointing when it does..

A question to some of the posters in thread, why do you personally care so much about what others complain about on a gaming forum? You're aware they're not attacking YOU right?
