This isn't a contest, it's a poorly concealed beta test.

I know he's right. Tournaments have real rules and schedules, this is just an open invitation to get people to play more. This is what happens when marketing tells engineering: I've got an idea to help you stress test... be right back.

I agree, as a casual I wont be playing much due to this tournament. Why on gods green earth wont they properly implement in game mechanics to support a proper tournament mode? That way, those of us that don't want to participate in this tourney do not have to like we do now.
I know of no other game/sport that forces everyone no matter what to participate in said tourney. Right now you are either a competitor or their fodder/farm.
Oh well, thats 3 days of lost premium but Monday is another day!
EDIT: I would be curious to see the numbers after the weekend. IF they go up due to participation, or if they drop as casuals don't want to participate possibly, and the only way NOT to participate is not to play

I think I will better spend my time 4 manning with my hero mechs to farm all the lone wolfers. Actually might be a good opportunity to lone wolf and have my Elo score settle in well without all the 4 manners ruining it.
