Something everyone has to understand; This game is EXTREMELY young. As time goes on the match making system will get better and better as they develop it more and more games are played.

I played Heros of Newearth since beta and it was the same thing, matchmaking started off quite poor with long que times and gradually got better. They are still refining it today (4+ years later).

So, cool your nuts and just play the game. A year from now you'll be grasping for the smallest things to b!@#^ about because the game is going to be so F@#$ing good!

This is beta i understand but we have to do pettitions or opinions on what the people think
so that the game can be better!
(tired of the complaining people too? i know yes?)

I've had some really epic games over the last few days, and far fewer stomps one way or the other. A lot of matches have come down to 1v1 or 2v1 which is always cool. For me, at least, ELO has been great.

ELO makes games a chore. If i'm not downing coffee and energy drinks and smoking meth before a match i will lose. If i want to play casually, i will lose, if i try a new mech loadout i will lose. i will have to play my a$$ off to win even in a dedicated cheeser. When you don't normally have to try to have your most precise headshottingist game of your life every game to win, ELO is stupid. If you suck and never ever have a super headshottingly awesome game no matter how much you want it, ELO is a godsend to your lazy azz.

Any time i have ever wanted to play a game competitively i've joined a team and entered tournaments.

I dont agree with stomping noobs with a group so that should be out,
but srsly, i dont want every single day of MWO to be a hardcore tournament, its a relaxing hobby not a daily lifetime tournament competition.

So far I'm liking the new system ,still could use some work but even the 8-0 matches seem to be better.

overall it seems better balance wise, i've seen a handful of steamrolls since the patch. ECM ravens are definitely out in force though.

I couldn't be happier. My w/l and k/d have both gone up a full tenth of a point just tonight, the money's good, and I'm finally getting decent XP. Before Elo I lost or died 2/3 of the time, now I think I'm a little better than half. So, either I'm not as bad as 3 weeks of getting whooped by premades led me to believe, or I'm just playing with people who are as bad as I am. Either way, I'm really happy.

I am seeing more competitive matches and fewer blowouts.

But we still need drop tonnage limits even if we don't have weight class matching anymore the total tonnage difference between two teams should not be more than 50 tons.

I have gotten a lot more closer and balanced games. Why they did get rid of the weight/class balancing is a miracle to me, but it seems to be not that important at higher elos.

Basically the longer the 'Searching' is churning away the looser the weight/class balancing gets. The system simply gives up and gives you best guess within a band.

Still voted "not sure". Most games are good enough, but there are some so wild games, it makes no sense.

Seems to me though, that reason for those creazy rounds are 4-mans who only run 4 3L or 4 D-DC. So mostly fine, and not more misbalanced than before, but worse matches can sometimes happen. Have your little group with trebuchets without even basic skills, and be thrown against 250 ton bigger team, with only top tier builds in it. Oh well, we did beat the ravens though, they were just plain bad, we outplayed and capped their base... : )

Edit:maybe add some intel data from enemy team in the score screen? Do not list exact mechs, but give weight class in games? So at least some planning is possible how to encounter much heavier or lighter force. No need for that in 8-mans, that's the scout's job, but would make sense in randoms.

going to take a while for ELO to do its thing and properly sort out the players. Give it a couple weeks.
