Excuse my spelling its one of my weakest areas.
Ok so im confused I understand that there are many people out there who want TT and just as many who want the TT people to just be quiet, Well here is were im hung up, as far as I can tell both partys are right and here is why as I see it.
1. This game is in fact based off of the board game all ranges heat and damage numbers have been derived strait from the board game and adjusted or ballanced to match the game.
2. Those who think this should be nothing like battletech should go play Hawken as it is nothing like battletech but this game is in fact Battletech with a different name.
3. TT players Need to back off as TT rules will not work in a FPSMMO!! end of story but they are a good baseline.
4. ALL ASPECTS OF THIS GAME SHOULD BE INTRODUCED AS FOUND ON BATTLETECH BOARD GAME RULES... but should be adjusted to work within the game.
5. PGI should not go making up its own tech.... this is were the two sides fight the most. putting in tech that does not fit Battletech/Mechwarrior rules is just asking for trouble. There are plenty of ways to blance a pice of equipment without coming up with your own stuff.
6. Tag and EMP effect on PPCs are not Cannon and are half assed ways to cover up one of PGIs brain childeren.. anyone can look up the ECM on Sarna and there are tons of posts about it. The part that all players should agree on is that per basic rules the ECM as it currently is is nowhere close to anything resembeling cannon except maybe the CLAN ECM.
7. This game Has a Pedigree and even though not everyone will get the game as they want it both the developers and the players should strive for a balanced game that is as accurate as REASONABLE to the welth of knowladge and literature of Battletech and Mechwarrior.
In conclusion I propose that PGI start all equipment as per table top (or as close as reasonable) and work it into balance from that point. That the TT vrs Non-TT players just give it a rest niether of you are going to get exactly what you want and all you are doing is filling the forums full of trash threads that are of no help either way. Also be understanding of those who offer ideas that are not at all battletech related. such as prone or side steps or dashing and direct them to a place they can learn more about the lore or explain it to them politely. And finaly that everyone works for the betterment of the game and accept everyones ideas as relevent because everyones idea of the perfect MWO is diffrent.
Now all responsed are valid but please try to be adults with the responses and try not to troll too hard

Is there a question here?
Your conclusion proposal is basically what PGI has done. The TT purists whine every time they change something because it's too different from canon. The game purists whine every time they change something because it's not different enough from canon.
However, those two groups are really just very noisy minorities. Most of us are too busy playing and enjoying the game to be crying on the forums about how they changed it now it sucks.
(Also, how well a person writes is very important in a situation like a forum, where a person's writing is really the only part of them anyone else sees. Like it or not, how well you write does make a difference to how people see you. If you're concerned enough about your spelling to feel that apologizing for it is necessary, it might be worth the effort to run your posts through a spellchecker before you post. Nobody expects perfection, but everybody appreciates effort.)
