WHY? (first off ...this is not a ragepoll, some of the options are sarcasm)
I am posting this and asking you why would you not join teamspeak (the unoffical one or the NGNG one) or use C3. I am truly interested in what has turned you away from voice chat if you even knew it existed outside of C3.
I am not elitest or trying to tell anyone how to play. The point was before this game goes crazy open beta ...I would like the chance to play with good pilots and a way to keep and make good friends.
I cannot put an option for every single persons reason ...choose "other" if one doesnt fit you or if more than one does fit you.
The title is not mean to be rude or condescending (we were all new at some point)
There are education channels with truly nice people that can answer questions.
There are other people looking for group and learning the game
There are places to try new mechs and configuations
Just because you join a team does not commit you to a time frame or a certain number of games.
It does not guarantee a win. I have lost even while being in a premade but I win more often than when I do not jump on teamspeak.
You will get to hear and if you want interact with your team. (while some are immature the majority are adult players)

Recruiting forum is here: http://mwomercs.com/...orp-recruiting/

Personally, I'm not installing third-party software to enable voice communications. And, to my knowledge, C3 is not available for PUGs.

Besides, I type 120wpm.

I wouldn't call myself a noob, but I will throw in the reason why I didn't join any TS server to play MWO:

Because I can't ******* find any adress.

How about adding that option to your poll?

Screw voice chat.
I'd rather listen to music.

Seriously, guys. There are many groups out there that have a great bunch of people that share the same affinity as you for the mechwarrior series. All you have to do is say "hi", get a link to their forum and you'll get help and voice comm info from an experienced group.

Good hunting to all

Every now 'n then I'll have to drop everything for a period to type, regardless of my fast speed, those 2 seconds can be during a critical moment.

That quick 'n deadly duration can be annoying to say the least, makin 'insta - com' a more efficient alternative.

A lot of the time when people choose not to communicate their input, strategy or tactics the said team will lose the match mainly due to the fact there's little to no synergy. At the same time, too many different strategies creates confusion & causes certain people to appear ' bossy '
which leads to rage.

There's a fine line between ' needing to inform others immediately ' and ' others are constantly aware of their surroundings '

Personally, I fit into the ' constantly aware of their surroundings ' category.. so no mic for me, but I like to listen.. sure helps!

Edit: I'd make a great team leader.. but by actions, not vocalization. Most people aren't built the way I am, so when I speak... all they hear is friction as my face changes hue from red to purple.

I do enjoy playing with other randoms on the teamspeak, but the pugstomp isn't terribly fun. I mainly PuG now, but once matchmaking segregates nubs from vets, or even premade from random I'll hop on TS more often. I like a challenge, so PuG is the way to go for now.

Hey if you want to buy me a decent mic...I found a nice little $50 one the other day...

As a lone wolf merc, I find that it doesnt matter what side I'm on as long as the money is good! I pilot a Commando so I know I'm not going to be dealing out the hurt, but that doesnt stop me from doing my role as support. You know stayin close to the team, using my AMS to knock out incoming LRM's, get that lock-on so my team can rain hell on someone. So as you can see it doesnt matter if I talk, Just have to keep my eyes open and go where I'm needed.

And, to my knowledge, C3 is not available for PUGs.

Your knowledge is limited. C3 is available to all. You can use it W/O MWO at all.

If you wanted to:
You could Open C3, set up a group, and then post the info to your teammates in team chat at the start of the match.
Use the MWO group function which will auto creat the group and put anyone who joins in the same channel.

Not saying the current implementation could not be HUGELY improved, but it does work w/o limitation.

Thank you for the information. I was under the impression that C3 was (or was planned to be) an included part of MWO and not a third-party program that integrates with the game. I admit, I've not been that interested in speech communications, so I've not followed those announcements very closely.

I will (and have) used voice chat for other games, but pretty much only with people I know. I'm sure there are some great people on here (probably more than in certain....other games I've played) and if I could guarantee it'd be all business, I'd probably be more on top of it. I almost certainly will, at some point, once I play with more people / more of my friends are on here. But honestly, I've gotten very tired of peoples' personal commentary in games, especially PUG games of all stripes.

I don't care who you are, what you think, and have no desire to listen to people whine. I'd rather guess, honestly, even if it means a loss.

I play a couple mmo's. I belong to some great guilds BUT, I'm not going to have complete strangers who feel their e-pene is superior yell at me because the missle boats decide to take me out first. And I prefer vent because I own my guilds vent. Maybe one day I'll make some friends here and become more comfortable. Until then, play your own way.

It's hard to take the poll seriously with choices like those. They don't seem to be born of genuine concern/curiosity. Ragepoll?

It's not really necessary to join in premades to fight premades if you play casually you may not wish to commit to anything or you might not be comfortable physically speaking to people online (Girl Gamers have this issue (my girlfriend played all male characters in mmos after a bad experience in wow and acted the part to prevent being harassed) and tend to enjoy the anonymity) or people who just dont feel like getting yelled at or verbally abused for having a bad night. While I do premades with friends i also pug and some (maybe 25%?) of my pugs triumph over premades (you can tell when they all have the same suffix or prefix in their names or say things in all like (x player switch vent channels lol)) simply by herding like cattle and focusing fire on the most visible mech, while the other team is trying to pick out the dangerous one so i personally dont see the problem

EDIT yea and that poll is hella biased
