Ecm Needs To Go The Way Of Knockdown

When something doesnt work, it needs to go back into internal testing. The item is currently a zero choice feature on variants that allow it, YOU WILL TAKE IT and it reduces the viability of all light chassis that do not have it available.

People talk about strategy, whining, etc. but the simple truth is that the game would be a hell of a lot more fun if we made ECM work the way it does on the tabletop, plus maybe we'd sell more AMS systems lol

I want knockdown back, lights running around in massive swarms with little regard for where they're going because of complete impunity. this combined with the hitbox issues at high speeds means it's very difficult to get a decent direct hit on an overly aggressive light.

no knockdown and bad hitboxes make lights really really fast assaults

Even with knockdown back, ECM+SSRM lights will still be complete and utter bullsh*t vs other light mechs.
I'd rather fight an atlas in my Jenner than a Raven 3L. I have much better chances.

Sidestepping the nonsense of ECM and focusing on the Craven, I still stick with my assessment that if PGI would finally take ALL support gear the route they did with AMS, mechs like the Craven would be far less an issue. To explain what I mean, would you really fear a mech made to be support that could only bring 2 energy weapons and 1 missile since NARC and TAG no longer take or give some actual weapon hardpoints? Sadly I am pretty sure this genie is out the bottle to stay just like it seems ECM is in its current state.

Knockdown will help with all lights being OP, but will not make the imbalance of power within the light mech hierarchy any better.

We need simply correct Implementation of the old Bt rules.

Give us BAP range increase against ECM, so we can lock a Raven at 375 Meters and i will show them what happens when it's raining Missles in Raven Hell.

Simple Solution. And still Streakcats won't be working as they are within the 180 ECM radius.

Atm i have to shoo the Raven away with my M_lasers hoping that he runs out of 180 Meters then he gets a nice Propellant of 30 LRM showing him that he made a big Mistake.

And it is nice to know when the enemy has ECM, i even shoot sometime over ECM bubbles.
Thanks to my 1.2km locking range. And i need the extra fast locking Time for Jumpjet LRM sniping.

But i have three LRM boats, everyone setup for an other purpose. And my CPTL is the only BaP one.

But List with LRM Boats + Bap when BaP would give locking range extention to ECM:

-Every Mech which can somehow squeeze the BaP in. Because they would be able to shoot ECM Mech at 315/375 Meters. Making the ECM a counter Streak and sneaking Item only.

Agreed, ECM should be a massive part of the game, but it should be a constant battle to get the best out of it, not just equip become invisible, currently it seems to be a bit of an easy win button, all modules should be designed in such a way that each has advantages but can be countered by something other than itself.

ECM is broken, is combing 3 effects, ECM, Angel ECM and null signature.


all those 3 things from table top have been umbrellaed under 1 thing and it's completely overpowering.

ECM shoud create a white noise and see it on the map but not whats cuasing it.
